Sheryna had been feeling more and more drawn to James over the past few months, and she knew that she had to tell him how she felt. They were sitting in his office, going over some case files, when Sheryna finally worked up the courage to speak.

"James, there's something I need to tell you," she said, her voice soft.

James looked up from the papers he was reading, his eyes meeting hers. "What is it?" he asked, his voice serious.

Sheryna took a deep breath, feeling her heart race in her chest. "I have feelings for you, James," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "I know we've been working together and I don't want to make things awkward, but I just couldn't keep it inside anymore."

James looked at her, his expression unreadable. "Sheryna, I appreciate your honesty," he said, his voice gentle. "But I don't feel the same way."

Sheryna felt her heart drop at the words, her eyes filling with tears. "Oh," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "I understand."

James reached out and took her hand, his touch gentle. "I value our friendship, Sheryna," he said, his voice full of sincerity. "And I don't want this to change anything between us."

Sheryna nodded, feeling a sense of sadness wash over her. "I don't want to lose our friendship either," she said, her voice choked with emotion.

They sat in silence for a few moments, both lost in their own thoughts. Finally, James spoke up.

"Sheryna, I want you to know that you're an amazing person," he said, his voice full of warmth. "And any guy would be lucky to have you."

Sheryna felt a small smile tug at the corners of her mouth, feeling a sense of gratitude for his kind words. "Thank you, James," she said, her voice soft.

They went back to working on the case files, but Sheryna couldn't help feeling a sense of heartbreak. She knew that she had to move on from her feelings for James, but it wouldn't be easy. Still, she was grateful for his friendship and knew that she would always cherish it.
