DISCLAIMER:

Hello! I'm new on Wattpad, so you'll see that I don't know how to make the most of this platform (for now).

This fanfiction is set after the events of Breaking Dawn but you should consider it an alternative universe.

You'll find the song 'Anti-Hero' by Taylor Swift as a guiding thread.

Enligh is not my first language, so, please, let me know if there are any mistakes! I will correct them as soon as possible.

Thank you.

"It's me, hi! I'm the problem, it's me."

Anti-Hero – Taylor Swift

"Immortality suits you," said Felix.

These were the first words that Leah heard escape his lips. Perhaps he had said something else before, but she was so focused on assessing every enemy in front of her that her gaze hadn't yet settled on the vampire who was now speaking. The moment that sentence reached her ears, she turned to look at him.

And the axis of her world shifted.

Fortunately, none of her packmates realized what was happening in her mind. Jacob was entirely focused on Renesmee, while Seth, Embry, and Quil were evaluating who to attack first among the hooded vampires on the other side of the glade. Leah needed to stay focused on what was happening in front of her; a part of her mind was listening to the words of the Volturi, the hurried whispers of the vampires next to her, and the heartbeat of her packmates. The rest of her? It was now completely absorbed by the tall, muscular vampire who had now moved next to Marcus.

Leah lowered her gaze and quickly assessed what to do. She wasn't so naive as to not understand what had just happened, and truth be told, she should have expected it: when had fate ever decided to be on her side? Why not make things even more complicated and imprint on a vampire? And not just a vampire who showed up to help the Cullens, no, absolutely not. A member of the Volturi guard, a monster.

Evidently, she had been distracted for too long, because in the meantime, the people around her were getting agitated, trying to figure out who had just arrived from the thick blanket of trees at the edge of the glade. She barely registered, with the corner of her eye, the arrival of Alice Cullen. Her recent imprinting had traumatized her so much that she didn't care at all about the new arrival.

When Leah turned to look for Felix, she stiffened suddenly. His attention wasn't on Alice Cullen, like the rest of the Volturi; it was on her. Dark red eyes were fixed on her figure, observing her closely, as if he had somehow understood that something was inevitably drawing her toward him.

They stared at each other for a long time - a part of her was listening to Carlisle dismissing the Volturi, who now had no reason to stay -, so much so, that at some point her brother Seth's question crept into her mind: "Everything okay?".

Leah snapped out of it, barely hearing Aro's words - "Such a prize..." – before turning around and run.
