"There's no relief, I see you in my sleep
And everybody's rushing me, but I can feel you touching me
There's no release, I feel you in my dreams
Telling me I'm fine"Dark Paradise - Lana Del Rey
She had missed his touch.
Every thought, every single worry, vanished when he touched her. The constant noise she heard in her mind would stop and Leah could finally breathe.
She loved his hands, so strong and cold against her hot skin. She knew that his hands were without imperfection due to his nature, but she often wondered how they had to be before his transformation. They had been probably rough, scarred from years of fighting, and yet, despite his past, despite his predatory nature, he was able to touch her with a delicacy that Leah had never experienced in her life.
Leah searched his eyes and when she found them, she saw that they were brown. Not dark red, but a vibrant brown.
She brushed the side of his left eye and he took her hand to intertwine his fingers with hers.
"Your eyes..." she murmured, her brow furrowed.
"Don't worry," he replied.
Leah put a hand on his chest and straightened up slightly. She was lying on his chest, the room was dark, in the distance the sound of the rain pouring down.
"Why did they change colour?"
"They didn't," he replied, "They've always been brown."
"No..." Leah shook her head. She was confused. Why did she remember his eyes being a different colour? It was true, they had always been brown. What was happening?
"You should sleep, we need to leave tomorrow," he distracted her.
Leah laid her head back on his chest and sighed, "I don't want to leave."
"I know, but we have to. If they found you..."
"I know."
Felix kissed her hair, "Sleep."
Leah closed her eyes and sighed. The sound of the rain had become more insistent and a particularly loud clap of thunder made her jump.
She opened her eyes and realized that Felix was no longer with her, she was alone, in bed.
"Felix? Where are you?"
No answer.
She tried to get up but another clap of thunder stopped her. The crashing sound of the rain was getting closer and closer and at one point she realized that the rain was getting her wet.
She looked up and saw that she was actually outdoors, not in a room. However, she did not recognize the landscape around her.
"Felix?" she asked again.
She felt like crying. Weren't they supposed to leave together? Where did he go?
A thunderclap startled her awake. Terrified, Leah sat up in bed and looked around, searching for the source of the noise.
But it was just a storm raging outside her window.
