Chapter 23 Ray

Ray Finally wakes up, to Frank's delight. "Ray! You're back!" Ray hugs him as the day begins. "We somehow got him back, despite that weird hypnotic brainwashing thing they did" Lavender explains. I just look at Ray awkwardly. I don't want to start the arguing about them setting me up for them to come out, but i have the urge to. Ray looks at me. "Im sorry Max. For everything. For bullying you, for setting you up, for a uselessly complicated coming out thing-" "And Lilath?" I cut him off, wanting for him to apologies for killing her. "Who?" My heart breaks into more than just a myriad of shards, my heart aches, as he doesn't know what he did when he was brainwashed. I know that he has no fault not knowing something that happened when he was controlled. I digress. "Wait, what did i miss?" Ray is curious of what happened while he wasn't in control. Frank and I fill him in on all the details, to the deaths, to the insanity of this place. "I missed a lot, didn't I?" "You could say that." Frank answers. "Im sorry for killing Lilath, i wasn't in contro-" "Don't mention it." I cut him off coldly.  I leave the room, Ray and Frank follow me. "I need some time to get truly used to this place, excuse me please." Ray walks off to an open field after saying that. Frank and I awkwardly look at each other. "Im sorry for his behaviour Max, he can get overwhelmed sometimes-" "don't mention it, just don't." I'm still not over Lilath's Death, which was caused by Ray getting controlled by Nevar, who used him to kill Lilath. Rosemary was also killed by one of Nevar's guards, and i'm clearly not over that! "Look, i know you still don't trust him, i get it, but i promise he is trustworthy." I don't trust Ray, he still doesn't make sense, like why did he thought coming out in this place would be a good idea? Both he and Frank are either both geniuses or idiots, probably both.

"You don't understand, Frank. You know that." "Yes, Yes, I don't understand your problems, like the fact you're too silent with problems you'd like to adress." Frank says, rolling his eyes annoyed. "Hold your Sass, Frank." I say coldly, The tension in the metaphoricle room grows between us. Ray comes back, having calmed down. "What's the matter with you two? I can tell that Ray doesn't have the best skills at reading tension in a room. "Well Max here is saying that he has it the hardest!" "I did not say that Frank!" "But it is what you're implying!" "I am not!" "you are!" "Am not!" You are!" We keep arguing with each other. "Whoa, you shouldn't fight! You have gone through so much together!" Ray tries to solve the argument. "How would you know? You weren't there!" "Shut up Max!" "Ray! Max! Please stop! Look , we are together, and-" I interrupt him. "I already know this  from like two weeks earlier!" "Please , just give Ray a chance!" "I already gave him too many chances, i mean, he's the reason we're here in the first place!-" "It was my idea, Max." Frank admits. "I thought i'd be reasonable to try and come out in such an epic way, I..." Ray hugs his boyfriend Frank comforting. "Max, Frank, Calm down please." Ray is trying to solve this.

Marigold enters the scene. "We are under attack!" "How!? Isn't there a protective barrier to this place through the shield?" I ask panicking. "The doumb thing about it is that the shield itself is outside of the proctive barrier itself!" "Right, i forgot how stupid that is, but i digress." "Get your armor out, we need to defend!" Marigold is panicking, as am I. This could go very badly very fast. "Frank, Ray, let's settle this later after the attack." They agree, only slightly hesitant. We get ready in our armor, except Ray who takes a spare one. "Fellow Fairies, don't panic!" Queen Verbena says, trying to calm everyone down. "We will protect our home!-" she gets interrupted as the shield deactivates and Nevar's army storms in. They capture a blond harp playing fairy called bellflower. "Get off me!" She bashes the guard holding her with her harp and escapes, but she gets recaptured. They luckily don't kill any of them as we get between them with our swords and Marigold and Lavender use their magic wands to also fight against them. We ward them off, but Bellflower gets captured.

We have to save her, there will be bad things if we don't, i know it, i actually know this could go very bad for everyone here. I look at the gate to see if they took the protective shield, which they obviosly did, so that's another reason to go there. Bellflower either becomes corruptedby them, becomes controlled, or becomes dust like Rosemary, which i don't want to happen to anyone here. Ray has no idea what's happening. "So to get a  clearer understanding, this is the oposing force against the ones that controlled me?" "That's pretty much it." Marigold answers. "Huh..."

I calmed down and apologize to Frank. "Im sorry Frank, for being such a terrible friend, for not understanding your issues, for not understanding you love Ray, for-" Frank cuts me off, also having calmed down. "It's fine, it was me how got us into this mess anyway-" "it wasn't, I shouldn't have followed through with it with you," Ray interuppts him. "I should have known coming out that way would be a disaster..." Frank adds "but you didn't, that's fine-" Frank interrupts Ray. "It's Not! People died because of me! You got captured! And  you got injured!-" "It's just a small brouse! Nothing too serious! Please calm down! I love you!" Ray hugs him, crying a little. It makes sense, they love each other afterall. They kiss as they hug each other, it's kinda wholesome. I just awkwardly watch it happen, there's no reason for me to intervine. Marigold and I just look at them both kissing passionatly. "What are they doing?" Marigold doesn't seem to understand what they're doing. "They are loving each other." "weird." She really doesn't understand love. Maybe someday. But we have to rescue Bellflower and get the shield back.
