Chapter 11 The Lagoon

I finally feel good and i'm going to accept anything that is going to happen. ( i wonder how that is going to hold up) we finally go to the lagoon, it has been days since we first thought of taking this route. „Guys! The lagoon is only 30 meters away!" I say excited jumping around, while they roll their eyes , also excited. There isn't the blue sand i thought ,there was just grey clump . It is very similar to underwater sand if not the same. The clouds look like tear drops, that vary in size. I feel like we are getting watched by something.  This feeling is not very noticeable but very overwhelming. looking at the weirdly cyan water makes me realize this place doesn't make sense by the rules of this world. „this place doesn't fit with the others." Frank says looking around. „This place feels more like a half forgotten memory than anything we have seen." Lilath continues. There isn't any live here, no seagulls, no fish, no people. It just is eerily quiet, with no hint of live, yet i have a feeling that we're not alone. I step onto a darker sand area, but now i can't move my legs!„Guys! This is some kind of quick sand!" I scream slowly sinking not being able to get out. „This is just great!" I say angry.„The ONE time i am able to relive and accept fate i land in quicksand." i continue while sinking more. „Take my Hand!" Frank holds his hand for me to grab. I try to grab it but my limited movement makes me just barely not able to. Frank tries to get a little closer but he falls into the quicksand on his face right next to me . Lilath than out of the blue steps into the quicksand with one foot, grabs my hand and saves me. „You don't have to thank us." Says Lilath holding Both of our hands. We have a long comforting hug until we move on. „How do we cross the quicksand?" I ask confused of the situation.„maybe work smarter rather than harder." Lilath says going down by the water that isn't deep at all. „Come you two!" She says a little annoyed. We hesitantly follow , barely not stepping on the quicksand. That feeling of getting watched continues, like a warning. „Am i the only one that doesn't feel quite alright." Frank asks not looking good. Before any of us could answer something erupts out of the weirdly normal water. It is a Dark rock formation, on top of it, there are weirdly human looking mermaids. That feeling of getting intensifies.„Hello darlings come to us please." They say in a hypnotic way. I feel my body going into their direction not being able to control myself.„MAX THEY ARE GOING TO DROWN YOU!" Frank screams at me trying to hold me by him.„Max please... stay here" Lilath says about to cry, also holding me close to them. Lilath and Frank both hug me close to them. Slowly bringing me back. I fall to the ground finally being out of that hypnosis. „What happened?" I ask tired for some reason.„Max you are finally back!" They both say with tears in their eyes„we thought that we had lost you forever!" They both continue. Those mermaids seem to be pissed of as they rapidly come to us . I hold my Sword ready to get in a fight, Lilath gets out her shield and Frank gets out his bow. As we get ready to fight the wet sand all around us turns into a wet sandstorm. As the battle ensues, Those mermaids come close. They are 3 in total, one for each of us. Lilath attacks one of them with the spikes on her shield. Frank attacks with his Rainbow arrows and shoots its heart, when it falls to the ground. The last one is up to me, finally being out of the trance i attack it with sharpest part of the blade, separating the fish tail with its body. Its blue blood is the reassurance that we still are in the fantasy world. All of the sudden the entire place changes. Instead of a normal looking beach it becomes a beach with eye bleeding blue sand and red water. The Eye bleeding red sky has returned too, it takes us a minute to see clearly again, but after that its like it never happened. Not even those mermaid corpses are there anymore, they just disappeared. „What is going on?" Lilath asks sounding just as confused as Frank and i look. „I have no damn idea, im just as confused as you." I say looking around. As Frank starts looking around to try to understand the situation he sees something.„Guys! There in the distance is a harbor !" Frank yells sounding excited like an elephant. We hesitantly go with him despite the fact that it is in the opposite direction of where we need to go to rescue Ray. „This is quite a stupid idea, but i digress." I accidentally out loud. „I know..." Lilath replies knowing full well that it is useless. But for some reason im excited for something i know is just wasted time.„Come on guys! Only half an hour of walking!" Frank says excited. I can kinda see the harbor now, it is very cyan with a hint of yellow and purple, but from here that is the only thing i can make out. Lilath just stops and looks at the surroundings. „Is everything alright Lilath?" I ask a little concerned. „Um, yeah im fine...." She says looking into the distance. „Lilath. I know you're lying to yourself. Tell me whats wrong" „ok.." she says sounding a little sad. „Im a little homesick.." she looks into the distance.„Lilath. Thats fine. Can i tell you a secret?" I ask. „Yeah.?" She responses looking at me.„Im homesick too, i honestly haven't admit myself.." i look into the distance. We both hug each other knowing each others pain and suffering, all of our previous history , all of the pain.
