Y/n pov

I'd woken up after apparently falling asleep. Bernard was running his hand through my hair while his other held me close to him. I turned my head and looked up at him. He was already looking down at me.

"Hi" I mumbled

He laughed a little. "Hello snowflake"

"How long was I out?"

"An hour. Not too long"

"Ok," I whispered. He kissed the top of my head.

"We have to walk with the fake Santa in the workshop"

"Do we have to"

"Yes"

"Why"

"So the elves don't get suspicious"

"They already are"

"Come on"

I sighed before rolling off of him. He got up and then helped me up.

"Let's do this"

.-.-.-

"Santa, look forward and put on a smiley face. Say hello to your elves." Curtis said as we walked through. Bernard had his hand on my lower back leading me through with him

"Ho, ho, ho! You're doing a wonderful job!" Fake Santa said to any elf that went by

"Santa, when you said the bigger wheels, is this what you meant?" One of the elves said walking over. Santa looked at us and then at him before speaking

"Ho, ho, ho! You're doing a wonderful job!"

"You're doing great. Dial it down on the ho-ho-ho's, but otherwise, you're gold." Bernard said

"Ho, ho ho! Ho, ho, ho, ho, ho, ho! Why don't you just say it? You were right, Curtis. I was wrong." Curtis said as we kept walking.

"OK, OK, I admit it. They're happy. They're working hard. Everything's going to be fine."

"This book is very interesting reading. There's a lot of rules they're not following. " Santa said

"That's what I've been saying all along. Things have gotten a little too sloppy around here." Curtis said

"Yes! Sloppiness means mistakes. Mistakes aren't a good thing! I might have to make some changes here." I looked over at Bernard warily

"I think you spoke too soon" I whispered

"What do you have in mind?" Curtis said

"Let me show you. There's many things. Look here... " Santa said.

"I think I did too," Bernard said back as we watched the two walk away

"We are so going to regret letting them walk away."

"Right. Come on. Let's not regret this" he said grabbing my hand and pulling me with him.

.-.-.-

"Well, I think he's learning at an excellent rate," Curtis said. As we were walking outside following the plastic man.

"Oh? This morning he ate a bowl of waxed fruit." I mutter. Bernard nudged me softly.

"Wait a minute. I need the naughty-and-nice list." Santa said

"No," Bernard said

"It says I'm supposed to check it twice." He said pointing at the book

"Santa already checked it."
