Rebecca's POV

"Holy shit...Becca...you look incredible."

I smiled as my eyes met Steve's bright blue ones as he trailed them up and down my body. I was in a dark blue velvet dress with thin straps and a slit up the leg. Pepper had picked it out for me while on our shopping trip and I fell in love with the way it fit my body. It hugged every curve just right and while it showed off more than I was used to...I felt confident in it. And according to Pepper and Monica, that was all that mattered.

"You like it?" I smiled.

"Like it? I love it, sweetheart..." He took a few large steps until he was right in front of me. His hand ran through my freshly curled hair. Pepper had also taught me how to use a curling iron and it honestly changed my life. "I no longer want to go to dinner..." He mumbled, pressing a deep kiss to my lips. I let him kiss me like that for a moment before pulling away. "Not now, Captain Rogers...we have a dinner date." I patted his chest and realized he wasn't wearing his tie that matched the color of my dress.

"Here." He held it out for me and I smiled. Steve knew how to tie a tie, he just liked it when I did it...and I had to admit, I loved doing his tie for him. I wrapped the blue fabric around his neck, our bodies close together, Steve's hand on my hips, as I delicately tied it around his neck.

"There." I kissed him quickly before stepping back and running my hands down the lapels of the suit jacket. "You look handsome, Captain."

He smiled and took my hand, walking us out to a car and opening the door for me to get in. His hand rested securely on my thigh as he drove us into Manhattan and to a very nice looking restaurant. He would glance over at me every once in a while as I stared out the window. New York sure was beautiful. I squeezed Steve's hand as he pulled the car up to a valet station. My door opened and a man helped me out before Steve got to me and held his arm out for me.

"Reservation for 2, under Rogers." Steve said as he greeted the hostess. "Of course Captain Rogers, right this way!" She was quick to take us towards a private room in the restaurant where a table was waiting for us. Steve pulled my chair out for me before sitting down while the waiter handed us menu's and filled up glasses with water.

"Can I get you guys anything else to drink?" He asked. I looked at Steve who shrugged, "anything you want birthday girl."

"A bottle of wine?" Steve nodded and I looked back at the waiter, "Just a bottle of wine, white. Any kind." He nodded, jotting it down before walking away.

"This is nice..." I said looking around the room. It was nice and private. "Perks of dating a superhero." I joked.

"Well here people know me and I wanted to make sure this night was 100% about you. Especially after I made you upset this morning." Steve said, reaching across the table and taking my hand. "Thank you. I didn't need all of this though...I would have been happy at a-" "A diner, I know. But I wanted this birthday to be special. You're in a new time, you left your friends...you deserved to get dolled up and taken out by your boyfriend." I smiled as he brought my hand up to his lips and kissed it. "I love you so much, Becca. Thank you for coming here with me."

I blushed as I looked across the table at him, "I love you too."

A short while later, we had our little appetizer and then our main dishes. I had ordered a classic filet with potatoes and broccoli while Steve had ordered the same and an entire lobster. Most likely because he knew I would steal some like I did many other dates.

And of course, I did. I lifted my fork and took a piece of the lobster from his plate before popping it into my mouth. Steve smiled over at me and I gave him one back. "So, how are you feeling with everything?" Steve asked me. I sighed and popped a potato in my mouth, "Okay...I still feel a bit out of place here but I'm happy here with you and Buck."
