- July 12, 1950 -

Dear Becca,

Hope you're soaking up that Cali sun! New York feels oddly quiet without you. I hope you guys have gotten settled in and that Grant's job is going well. I can't wait to hear back from you!! Maddy and I can't wait until we can get out there and visit. In the meantime, I'm dying to hear about everything!! Write me soon, okay? I miss you.

Dear Becca,

I think my first letter got lost in the mail. That's okay! I'll just write another. I hope all is going well for you and Grant in California! We really miss you out here. New York just isn't the same. I hope you already got to soak your feet in the warm California sand and Pacific Ocean! I can't wait to hear all about it and hopefully visit you guys out there one day!!

Dear Becca,

It's been about 2 months since you left and we haven't heard from you. Howard said he thinks the postal service could use an upgrade because he thinks my letters keep getting lost. I mean, California is a long way away so, I guess things could get lost easier than if I was sending this letter to you in New York. Anyway, we miss you and can't wait to hear all about California!! I hope you love it out there! Can't wait to hear from you soon. Love you lots.

I finally got your first letter today!! So glad to hear that Grant is enjoying his job and that you two are exploring California. John and I are definitely jealous of you guys, New York has been nothing but cold and rainy. What I wouldn't give for some of that sun you're getting. I bet you've gotten a nice tan! Anyway, I hope you visit soon or we can come visit you. Love and miss you so much!

Dear Becca,

Merry Christmas!!! I can't believe it's already been almost 6 months without you here in New York. The Rockefeller tree is beautifully lit up as always, I'm sorry you won't get to see it this year. Do they do something like this in California?

I can't wait to hear about your Christmas and I hope that one of your gifts is a really nice ring from Grant. If he doesn't propose soon, I'll come out there and talk some sense into him!! I've honestly never met a more perfect couple (besides John and I). Love and miss you!

IT HAPPENED!! JOHN PROPOSED!! AHHHH!! You are looking at the future Mrs. Moore!! I'm so excited!! The ring is beautiful, I wish you could see it! Actually, I hope you can see it soon because I want to come out to visit soon! John and I have been saving up. I also want to ask you something but I want to do it in person...I think you can guess what it is! I can't wait to hear back from you, Bex!
