"Becca, Pepper and Morgan are here!" Steve said, knocking on the bathroom door and snapping me out of my little day dream. I quickly wrapped the little white and blue stick in toilet paper and hid it under the sink. I flushed the toilet and washed my hands before opening the bathroom door. "Everything okay?" Steve asked me and I nodded.

It all started when I realized my jeans were a little too tight. I figured it was just because today's food was more fattening than in the 40's and 50's but I didn't think I had gained that much weight. The second clue I had was I had in fact missed my cycle. At first I thought it was just late...but then when it never showed up...I was concerned. Though, it made sense. Steve and I weren't really safe. It was a miracle that I hadn't gotten pregnant sooner, especially since he's a super soldier with super swimmers.

I had forced Bucky to take me to the drugstore where I secretly purchased a pregnancy test after a little research on which one was best. There were so many options. After careful consideration, I went with the digital one named ClearBlue and picked up a bag of chips for Bucky, some treats for Scout, and a box of tampons...even though I wouldn't need those for the next 9 months. But it worked, Bucky had no clue and went about the rest of his day.

All of that led me to today. Where I sat locked in the bathroom for 3 minutes waiting for a stick I peed on to dictate the rest of my life.

I met with Pepper and Morgan in the living area where Morgan was playing with Scout on the floor. Steve soon joined her while we chatted before going dress shopping. Pepper also thoughtfully invited Monica from Nordstroms and she would be meeting us there. "Morgan, do you want to come dress shopping for Aunt Becca or stay with Uncle Steve and Scout?" Pepper asked her daughter.

She shot up off the ground and ran towards us, "I wanna go shopping!!" Pepper laughed and we said our goodbyes to Steve before heading out to a dress shop. Monica met us there and we got situated on a couch with champagne, that I now unfortunately would have to avoid, while Morgan was set up with some sparkling juice so she would feel included.

"So do you know what you're looking for?" Monica asked me. "Not really...I'm still not very good at the whole shopping thing." I blushed, "but I do think I want something classic and timeless."

"I think that sounds lovely!" Pepper said, taking a sip of champagne. "Okay...why don't you wait here and we will take a look around the store!" Monica said, going off with the woman at the dress shop to look at dresses.

"Thank you for being here, Pepper." I said to her. "Of course. I'm happy to share this special moment with you." "Me too!" Morgan said, pulling me into a hug. "I'm nervous." I admitted. "You have nothing to be nervous about. Steve loves you and I know he cannot wait to marry you." Pepper said, placing a hand on my knee. "I know he does but...what if-" "No what if's! You two are perfect for one another. I've never seen two people more perfect for each other." She said, cutting me off. I sighed but knew she was right. I had nothing to be nervous about. Well, at least nothing regarding marrying Steve. I had a whole other set of nerves upon finding out I was pregnant.

Soon, Monica came back and I was taken to a dressing room where I tried on my very first wedding dress. It was nice. It was a ballgown style of dress with a lace bodice and long sleeves that started at my shoulders and created a nice v neckline. It was simple with a little bit of a vintage aura to it. I just didn't know if it was the dress for me. I still showed it to Pepper, Monica, and Morgan and they agreed, there was probably a better dress for me.

I tried on a few more dresses in different styles but none really stood out to me. Maybe it was the lace. Maybe I needed something without lace.

Then I tried on a pure white, strapless, satin wedding gown. With its clean lines, traditional silhouette, and flowy train that wasn't too long...it was perfect. I slowly exited the dressing room after being zipped up to show Monica, Morgan, and Pepper.

"WOW!" Morgan yelled, jumping on the couch. I smiled as their faces lit up. "Wow, Becca...that dress is gorgeous on you." Pepper said. I stood on the little platform and spun around to look in the mirror. "This is the one." I said quietly. "That fits you so well." Monica said and turned to the sales woman, "can we get a veil?" She nodded and stepped away for a moment before coming back with a veil that complimented the dress. I bent down a little so she could place it in my hair and fluff it out.

"Well?" I asked, turning to the other women. "Beautiful!" Pepper gushed. "You look like a princess!!" Morgan yelled. I turned back to look at the mirror and smiled as I saw my reflection. I could see myself marrying Steve in this dress. I could see myself with our kids, our family...I wanted it all.

"How far along?" I was startled out of my daydream by Pepper's voice. I hadn't even realized I was now resting my hand on my stomach. "What?" I asked her. She motioned to my stomach. "Oh. Well...I don't know. I took a test this morning." I said quietly. "Do you have a doctor?" I shook my head and she nodded. "I'll set you up with my doctor, okay?" "Thank you, Pepper. That would be great." She nodded and gave me a smile.

"Have you told Steve?" She asked. "Not yet. I wanted to tell him tonight." "He'll be thrilled." She said, smiling one last time.

"So this is the dress?" The sales woman asked, for one final time. "This is the dress."

-

"Steve?!" I called out, walking into our new house and up the steps into the living room and kitchen where I could smell food. We had recently finished moving in and I was happy we had our own space. Especially for what I was about to tell him. "Hey sweetheart, find a dress?" Steve asked as I found him in the kitchen, plating up some chinese food with Scout begging at his feet. "I did." I said with a smile, giving him a kiss. He passed me a plate of rice and orange chicken and held his own, taking a bite.

"Are you going to give me any details?" He asked, taking a bite. "It's white." I smiled. "Wow, so descriptive." Steve joked and I shrugged. "I do need to talk to you about something though." I said, changing to a more serious tone. Steve noticed the slight change in my tone and his brows furrowed, "Everything okay? Did something happen?"

"No! Nothing happened." I looked around for a moment before looking back at him, "can we talk in our room?" Steve put down his plate of food, abandoning it immediately and walking us upstairs to our room. "You know, Scout's gonna eat that." I said with a playful smirk as he shut the door behind us. "It'll be fine." Steve said, waving me off. "What did you want to talk about?" He asked. I walked over to the bathroom, pulling out the wrapped pregnancy test, and walking back out. "Becca, what's wrong?" He asked, his eyes following my every movement.

I moved to sit on the bed and slowly unwrapped the toilet paper off of the positive pregnancy test. "What is that?" Steve asked. "A pregnancy test." I said quietly. "What?" I looked up and my eyes met his. "I know this is sudden and we didn't plan for this to happen but...I'm pregnant, Steve." I held up the test and a wide smile crossed his face. "You're pregnant?" I nodded and he quickly rushed up to me, tackling me onto the bed and covering my face in kisses. "You're pregnant!"

"You're not upset?" I asked. "Why would I be upset, Bex? I want a family with you." He said, pushing some hair out of my face and giving me a kiss. "This is amazing news, sweetheart."

"You really think so?"

"I do. You're an amazing dog mom to Scout. You'll be an amazing mom to our children. I'm so excited, sweetheart. I want this with you." I smiled and wrapped my arms around his neck, pulling him down. "I want this with you too, I love you." "I love you too." He said back.

He carefully moved himself down the bed and lifted my shirt, placing a kiss to my stomach. "Hey little bean, I'm your dad and I can't wait to meet you."
