"It feels like the start of a movie I've seen before, but it's not real, and you don't exist"

Laying awake in bed, staring at the ceiling, hands and legs spread out. Mind drawn into the delusional dreams of her unexpected moment with Heeseung at the hotpot place.

Wanting so desperately for her dreams to come true, Rue could feel her heart ache. He was cute, sweet, and understanding. Yet flirty, annoying, and enjoyably playful.

He confused Rue at times. She couldn't exactly figure him out. Sometimes he was patient and kind to her. Such as when he would tutor her and send gifts every time she passed her tests.

Other times he would be flirty, playful and annoying to get her attention. But then there were times when he would be protective and act without hesitation or warning.

So far, Rue has only meet these sides of Heeseung. She wasn't ready to meet the cold, sad, and unhappy versions of Heeseung. She wanted her dreams of him to remain perfect. As she knew her dreams were the closest she would get ever get to being in a relationship with him.

Rue sat up in bed and reached over to her bedside table to turn on her mixtape. Choosing a playlist she had made herself filled with the many songs that reminded her of him.

She inserted side a of the cassette into the player as she lay down underneath her covers, shutting her eyes and allowing herself to fall under the musics dream. Bringing her to sleep.

Time had flown fast. Day by day time eventually reached the end of the final semester of that year. Sitting in the ceremony of her brothers graduation. Rue began to wonder her true feelings.

Summer was just a week away and in a few months, both Heeseung and Jay would be off to university. The thought of her longtime crush leaving to another country for university saddened Rue. However she knew he would do great things, and he had even promised to visit.

After the ceremony had ended. Families gathered out back to wish others congratulations and positive thoughts towards a new future. In addition, Rue had planned a special gift for Heeseung.

"Okay, 3... 2... 1... smiles!" cheered Mr. Park as he clicked the camera off on Jay and his group of friends posing.

"Okay Ruru get in there with your brother so we can get a picture of you both" smiled her mother.

"Come here little monster, let's get this over with.  Smile so that you don't ruin this moment like you always do", teased Jay.

After the quick photo with her brother, Heeseung walked up behind Rue and patted her head.  "You're gonna miss me, won't you Ruru".

"Here these are for you" spoke Rue shyly as she handed him a bouquet of flowers she had pulled from behind her back. "It's a thank you for being my tutor and such a kind person."

"Oh really? Thank you Ruru, I'll treasure these for as long they will last. Thank you," He smiled.

Rue began to pull out another gift from behind her back. It was a velvet box with a fine black tie inside. Rue had noticed whenever Heeseung would wear a suit, he would always wear without a tie or have to borrow one of her brothers.

To make her present more personal she had stitched a little gift on the back of the tie.

Rue began to pull out the present, then suddenly a blonde haired girl jumped up behind him and pulled him over to face her.

"Hee baby, you coming to the grads after party right? I'll be there, you should definitely come. It could get fun, the night is free" she spoke with a flirty tone.

"Oh- uhh I'll consider it now I guess".

Rue began to restrain herself from handing the box over to Heeseung. She felt embarrassed and awkward, she so silently left to find somewhere else to be.

Finding her brother in a crowd of people she pulled him over. "Jay who's that girl Heeseung is with?" she asked.

Jay looked up to see the girl Rue was referring to. "Ay yo! Guys check this out" he called out to both Sunghoon and Jungwon

"Ayy looks like Hee has finally gotten himself a girl to hang out with this summer"
cheered Jungwon.

"So is that his girlfriend?" Questioned Rue. Feeling both a little down and jealous.

"Ah that's just Huh Yunjin. Her and Hee have been flirting togther like this whole year" spoke Jay. "I'd be surprised if they weren't gonna get together. But you never know".

"Oh yea plus they both going to the same university" added Sunghoon.

At this moment Rue could feel her heart sink. The thought of Hee getting a girlfriend other than Rue never occurred to her. Reality had set in and it only made her depressed.

Back at home Rue carried all the gifts Heeseung had gifted her for her successes on assignments and tests. She carried out all the artwork and drawings she had made of her and him together.

Taking a deep sigh, she began to carry each item into a brown moving box. Ready to stash away in her closet to be forever forgotten.

"It's time to move on Rue. It doesn't exist. It's just a dream of reality that never existed" she spoke quietly to herself.

Closing box up and placing inside her closet, Rue decided it was time to move on from her crush. After all he was moving to another country for university and she wouldn't see him as often.

Rue sat down on her windowsill looking out at the night sky. Tears flowed slowly down her cheeks. Moonlight hitting the side of her cheek.

It was like a dream. It felt like the start of a movie that she had seen before, but it wasn't real. And he didn't exist... at least not for her...

To speed up the story I thought of making a time jump so that it wouldn't be too boring and long so that the good parts can come. Expect to see a few more chapters that then lead up to a time jump.

Thanks for reading :)
