The next morning, Dalton went home to check on his mom and little brother that I didn't know existed. I called Ellie and she told me not to come home yet, so I am currently sitting with Barry, trying to beat him in a game of rock, paper, scissors.
"That is not fair, you changed at the last second", He accused me.
"I did not. I chose scissors, fair and square"
"I saw that rock at the beginning"
"You didn't see shit, because it didn't happen"
"Lying isn't gonna get you anywhere in life", He laughed.
"Neither is being lame", I smiled back sat him and started laughing. He rolled his eyes and I playfully shoved him. He glared at me and I hugged a pillow to my chest.
"Thank you for letting me stay here", I said.
"It's the least I can do", He nodded and looked down.
"Actually, the least you can do is admit that you lost"
He looked up at me and laughed."Are you stuck on that now?"
"Yes. I am"
"Fine", He sighed."You won"
"Thank you", I smiled. He rolled his eyes again."Do you think they got him?", I asked."Andy, I mean"
"No", He sighed."They're too smart for that"
"Oh..", I mumbled.
"I'm sorry"
"No, don't be. I'm just..", I shrugged."Kind of scared"
"Speaking of being scared, if you're ready we have to take those stitches out"
I looked down at my arm and up at him.
"Will it hurt?"
"No", He shook his head."It might feel weird, but it's not going to hurt"
I nodded."Okay", I closed my eyes and he put his hand on my shoulder. I looked up at him.
"I want to tell you that we don't have to do this, but we have to do this"
"Yeah. I know", I nodded."It's okay though, the worst part was Dalton pulling the glass out of my arm"
"Yeah. This is always the better part", He stood up and held his hand out. I held it and he led me to his room. He told me to sit on a desk next to his bed. I did as he said and looked around.
"It's nice in here", I said. I looked around at the grey walls and the white bed. I could never own a white bed. I'd ruin it within ten minutes.
"Thanks", He set a first aid kit next to me.
"High tech", I laughed. He smiled up at me.
"I got it when was in medical school. I have a feeling I'll be using it a lot"
He took off the sweater he was wearing and threw it in his bed. The amount of tattoos on his arms was like nothing I could ever imagine being on someone like Barry.
"Whoa", I mumbled.
"What?", He asked.
"These", I put my hands on his arms. He chuckled and shook his head.
"I have more, but I'd have to take my clothes off for you to see that"
I glared at him and rolled my eyes hard. He shook his head.
"I'm kidding. It's just on my back"
The color on his arms took my breath away. I traced over a few of the patterns on his arms until I saw a two names.
