I laid in the gurney with the handkerchief over my mouth. I was wheezing and coughing to the point where my whole body was aching.
I held onto the bars on the sides of the gurney with the little strength I had.
"Hang on, baby. We're gonna get you out of here alive", A woman with dark skin and light eyes said to me. I felt like I was choking. And then I was hyperventilating, and gasping for air.
"Hurry up!", Someone shouted. My body was jolting and shaking. I remember taking one last deep breath before I blacked out.
"Clear", I heard a voice say. I felt an electric shock throughout my body and I tried to gasp, but couldn't."We've got a pulse", A woman said happily I felt a needle being slowly shoved into my arm. It hurt and made me want to scream because of how much I hated needles.
I blacked out again after I felt them inject me with something else.

"Hi", Dane said when I woke up. Tommy was sitting next to him."What happened?", I mumbled.
"I think the doctors should tell you, because we have no idea", Tommy said.
I sat up and held my head."Where's Dalton?", I asked.
"He's getting stitches again"
"Of course he is", I mumbled."Where's Barry?", I asked. They exchanged glances.
"We don't know", Said Tommy."We've called him several times. We even went by his office. He's not there"
"They have him", I said."They have Barry, we have to go get him-"
"No", Tommy shook his head and put his hand out."Not right now. We have to be prepared", I sat up and started to get up.
"Prepared? There's no way to prepare ourselves", I furrowed my eyebrows."Don't you get it? Without him, we lose. We can't get passed them without Barry-"
"His name is not Barry", Tommy said slowly. He put his finger on my chest."His name is Trevor Barry Morison, and he is a trained killer. It's in his blood. I've seen what he does, and sooner or later, he'll give in to it and he will become a cold blooded killer like the rest of us", He tilted his head."I have seen the things they do", He whispered."They will literally tear you apart piece by piece until the only thing that's left of you is bones a pile of blood. I've seen them do it before without hesitation. You're weak. It won't take much to put you down"
I took a few seconds before I swung at him and he caught my fist.
"I've been there for less than a month and I can still do this", He leaned in closer."You overestimate yourself", He whispered and dropped my fist.
"I'm gonna go check on my brother", He said and left the room.
I closed my eyes and took a deep breath.
"Arin.." Dane started.
"Don't", I stopped him."Just...just stop"
He stoop up and wiped his cheeks."I'll pick you up in the morning", He whispered.
"Dane..", I mumbled as he walked out the door.
I cried again that night. I cried a lot, actually. More than I have since I've been here.
Everything hurt. I knew that I was too far gone. I knew that the nightmares would never stop coming, and the thoughts of everything would never go away. I'd never be the same. Not after this.
I shook my head and forced myself to stand.
"This will not ruin me", I said to myself and walked out the door.
