"Please..", I sighed."This is the fourth time I've been questioned today, and I just want to go to bed", I told the officers at my door.
"We respect that, Miss Meed, and I really am sorry about your friend, but we need to know"
"I'll tell you exactly what I told the other officers..", I pushed my hair out of my face and sighed again."I don't know what happened. I was just walking with a few friends, and we found him"
"What we're the names of your friends?"
"Tommy, Dane, and Trevor", I said. As far as they know, Barry doesn't exist and I'd like to keep him off the police radar.
"Last names?", He asked."Tommy Ellis, Dane Meed, and Trevor Allen", I said.
"Thank you", He smiled at me. I walked inside and closed the door. I didn't want to be rude, but I also didn't want them to ask me if they could talk to Dane. Were both just trying to forget about everything and rest.
I walked up to my room and laid in my bed. I stared across the street at Dalton's house until I got fed up and close the blinds. I put my head under my blanket and fell asleep shortly after that.

The next day, Dane drove Dalton and I to school, because Dalton can't drive until his leg heals."How does it feel?", I asked as I helped him out of the car.
"Like shit", He sighed and got his crutches out of the car."Thank you for driving me, by the way", He said to Dane.
"Can you even walk on those things?"
"Barely, but it's really not that hard. Just uncomfortable"
"I wish there was something I could do", I said. Dane was already half way too the school by now.
"There is", He smiled."You can give me a kiss", He laughed slightly.
I put my hand in his shoulder, stood on my tiptoes and kissed his cheek.
"That's all you'll get from me", I smiled. He shrugged.
"Good enough"
I shook my head and we walked towards the school.
"Rain, everybody is staring at me", He whispered once we got inside. I looked up at him and smiled. It's no wonder they were staring. His whole face was covered in bruised and cuts, just like his arms. And he was on crutches with no cast, and both shoes on.
"I know", I whispered back.
"I don't like it", He shook his head. I saw Tom looking at me so I stepped closer to Dalton.
"What?", He asked.
"I didn't tell you, did I?"
"Tell me what?"
I looked back at him and felt fear rise throughout my whose body."Tom is one of them", I whispered. He sighed.
"I'm sorry"
I didn't say anything after that, because there wasn't anything to say.
"Hey", A blonde girl said and stood I front of us with a few other girls."What happened?", She asked.
"Long story..", Dalton looked over at me, visually asking me for help.
I put my hand on his shoulder and rubbed it."Sorry to cut the conversation short, but we really have to go", I said.
She looked down at my hand and nodded slowly."Right"
They said goodbye to Dalton and walled away.
