Throughout the past few years, I became very close with the police, but never like this. I never thought I'd end up in Juvy or with handcuffs. Well, once Darell Ryle, the family friend officer, put handcuffs on me to scare me off because Liam thought that would be enough to keep me out of trouble. And then, once, I had to stay at the police station for four hours before Liam came to pick me up, but other than that, I had a pretty clean record. However, Liam made sure I knew what home arrest was like.
My schedule this past week consisted of school, therapy, tutoring, and home. Well, especially staying at home. Liam made sure I stuck to the schedule with a private driver who helped me travel between the two locations I was allowed to visit - home and school. The only thing missing was the bracelet on my ankle, but I had Liam for that. And even though he was pretty much glued to me, I still talked to the staff more than I did to him. Every time I opened my mouth, he picked a fight with me, and I didn't need any of that.
Aiden and I were still not speaking, which made this week very lonesome. I still talked with Dylan and Tom at school, but it was the regular chit-chat if we bumped into each other. Harry tried to call me, but when I thought of him, I remembered the Hemp that gave me away. Liam never opened the Hemp topic, but I knew he would use it if we got into another heated argument. That's another reason I stayed in my room when I had free time because if I didn't have to see his face, I wouldn't have to get angry and mean. And potentially get myself in a situation.
"Hey, are you watching?" Kai's voice brought me back to reality. I nodded at him, but he didn't seem to buy it. "You couldn't wait for the Clexa Reunion, and I'm very disappointed by your reaction," he teased, causing my lips to curl into a smile.
This ''watching a TV show through FaceTime'' started when Kia texted me if I wanted to hang out, and I embarrassed myself by telling him I was grounded. I saved most of the story to myself, but that little detail slipped from my mouth. Surprisingly, Kai was genuinely sweet about it. He offered his company since I was once again outcasted from society, and our long calls turned into watching this TV show together. We were already on season three.
"I just zoned out for a moment— Anyways, give my reaction a second chance because you're right," I quickly changed the topic, ready to play the scene again. But then he paused the episode, and I knew we were about to talk about it.
I sighed, resting my chin on my palm and pulling the laptop closer. Kai sat on his bed, leaning against the bedframe with his device in his hands. "As much as I'd like to say I'm always right," he chuckled, making me roll my eyes with a smile, "There are more important things to say, like..."
"Like what?"
"Like... What's up?" he asked, trying to hold his smile down when I made a cheesy stunt by turning the camera to the ceiling for the joke's sake. "Very funny and original, but... What's up with you, Molly? What's on your mind?"
