BEFORE READING THIS CHPATER PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT, IN ANCIENT INDIAN WOMEN WERE TREATED DIFFERENTLY.

Third PERSON POV:)

The news spread like wildfire throughout the kingdom: "She is involved with me." Omkara's statement had ignited a storm of rumors and accusations. As Abhirath, Vedanti, and Vishwanath approached the palace entrance, they were met with a sea of angry faces and harsh whispers.

People gathered around, murmuring, "Is it true? What about the child? Is it the king's?" The crowd's anger was palpable, their trust shaken.

As Abhirath's family came into view, his mother, Roopmati, spoke furiously, "Why have you brought her with you, Abhirath?"

Before Abhirath could respond, his grandmother interjected, "Let them come in first, Roopmati."

Vishwanath, holding Vedanti's hand, guided her into the palace. The scene was chaotic, with subjects, ministers, and family members all expressing shock and dismay. The crowd outside began to shout, "Remove the queen from the throne! Cheaters have no place in our kingdom!"

Vedanti, on the verge of tears, kept her composure, her face a mask of stoic resolve. She had risked her life countless times for this kingdom, and now they were treating her like a criminal. She stood strong, refusing to show weakness.

"We don't want any characterless woman on the throne! What will the young girls learn?" one person shouted.

Suddenly, Abhirath roared, his voice dripping with dangerous anger, "Stop talking before I cut your tongue!"

The crowd fell silent, fear and respect evident in their eyes.

Abhirath's eyes blazed with fury as he addressed them, "Where were any of you when she went on missions alone to save our land? When she staked her life and our child's life for the kingdom's sake?"

His voice softened, filled with pain and determination, "If anyone here can give me one instance where she failed as a queen, I will personally throw her out of the kingdom. But until then, no one questions my queen. The other matter is between husband and wife. I will not have people interfering in it."

The crowd, realizing their mistake, bowed their heads in shame. The tension in the air remained thick, but Abhirath's commanding presence had quelled the immediate unrest.

Abhirath held Vedanti's hand firmly, leading her into the palace with a resolute expression. Vedanti's heart raced, the pounding loud in her ears. As they reached Abhirath's chamber, he abruptly let go of her hand and shut the door in her face.

The sudden rejection left Vedanti reeling, tears welling up in her eyes. Moments ago, he had defended her with unwavering pride, and now he shut her out.

She started banging on the door, her voice trembling with desperation. "Abhirath, please! Open the door! Listen to me, just once!"

But the door remained closed, and her pleas went unanswered. Vedanti's head maid arrived, gently taking her by the arm and leading her to her own chamber. She handed Vedanti a glass of water, her voice calm but firm. "Queen, when you have advantages, take them. Why waste your energy on tears?"

Vedanti smirked through her tears, understanding the maid's plan. "Yea he should at least listen to me, Go on, do it."

Soon, Abhirath came running into Vedanti's chamber, panic etched on his face. "What happened, Vedanti? Are you in pain? Where is the royal physician?" he demanded, his voice frantic.

The head maid, feigning concern, replied, "She's experiencing pain in her abdomen."

Once Abhirath was inside the chamber, the maid discreetly closed the door from the outside. Vedanti took a deep breath, her voice quiet but determined. "Abhirath, please give me a chance to explain."

But Abhirath cut her off, his voice filled with anguish. "I don't want to listen, Vedanti. The more you talk about it, the more it breaks my heart. Now I feel what you must have felt when I told you I married Trupti. I think it's karma, but I promise I never touched her or even thought of her like that." His voice broke on the last line.

"Abhirath, please—" Vedanti began, but she was interrupted by Trupti barging in, a smug expression on her face.

"Wow, the great Vedanti having an affair, and you have the audacity to behave like that with me after what you've done?" Trupti sneered, continuing her tirade.

Before she could say more, Abhirath spoke, his voice steady and unwavering. "I can bet my life on it that my wife would never go near anyone else. Keep your baseless accusations to yourself, and don't forget she is the queen."

Trupti smirked, her eyes cold. "Remember, Abhirath, my brother doesn't lie. He is a man of his word." With that, she left the room, leaving a heavy silence in her wake.

Vedanti reached out, taking Abhirath's hand. "The truth you've been told is twisted. Let me tell you my side."

Abhirath's expression softened slightly, but the pain in his eyes remained. The room seemed to close in around them as Vedanti prepared to reveal her truth, knowing that their future hung in the balance.
