As Vedanti sat comfortably in her chamber, humming softly to herself while cradling her boys, she felt the calm before the storm. "Ranisa," the servant began, "Ranasa is personally training the soldiers who will accompany Rose on her mission."

Vedanti nodded, her eyes still on the babies. "Tell him to meet me once he finishes the training. And give me a report on the kingdom's activities later," she said, her voice even but firm.

Just then, Rose entered the room, and Vedanti's smile brightened instantly. The bond between them was clear, almost like that of sisters. "Hello, Rose!" Vedanti greeted warmly. "Sorry to drag you into this again, but that last mission was important for me. And this one... this one is for Abhirath. We need your help once more."

Rose's smile was genuine, filled with warmth. "Of course," she replied softly, walking over to the cradle where the boys were sleeping. She touched one of the babies' faces gently and said with a teasing grin, "They look just like their father."

Vedanti chuckled but mockingly pouted. "I carried them for nine months, but in the end, they came out looking exactly like Abhirath," she playfully complained. The two women laughed together, their camaraderie evident.

Before they could continue, a servant entered the chamber, bowing respectfully. "Ranisa, Princess Giva is asking to meet you."

Vedanti's smile faded slightly as she nodded in acknowledgment. "Send her in," she said.

Giva entered, her steps hesitant but determined. "What brings you here?" Vedanti asked, her voice laced with curiosity.

Giva took a deep breath before speaking. "I want to go with Rose on this mission," she said.

The room fell silent, eyes widening in shock. How did Giva know about the mission? Vedanti's gaze shifted to Rose, her tone turning stern. "I know you two have become close friends, but that doesn't mean you can share confidential matters with her."

Giva stepped forward, but as she did, Vedanti instinctively pulled her dupatta closer around the boys. Her bodyguards stepped forward as well, forming a protective barrier between Giva and the queen.

Rose quickly intervened, walking over to Giva and holding her hand. "I trust her, Vedanti," Rose said softly. "She was the one who helped me find that secret basement where Omkara hid your parents. Please don't treat her like this."

Giva's eyes filled with tears, and she cast her gaze downward, hurt by Vedanti's cold reaction.

Vedanti took a deep breath and gestured for her guards to stand down. "I know you had no part in Omkara's betrayal, Giva," Vedanti said, her voice softening just slightly. "That's why you still bear the title of princess. But trust... trust is another matter. What if you seek revenge for your brother's death? What if you decide to turn on us one day?"

Giva opened her mouth to speak, but Vedanti raised a hand, silencing her. "It's not that I don't believe in your goodness," Vedanti continued. "But people can change their minds. In a heartbeat. And that's a risk I cannot take."

Rose and Giva both stood there, hearts heavy with unspoken words. Vedanti's decision was final, and the tension in the room was palpable.

After a moment, Rose turned toward the exit, pulling Giva with her. Once outside, Rose couldn't contain herself anymore. She wrapped Giva in a tight, bone-crushing hug. "Please understand," she whispered. "It will take time for them to believe you."

Giva, overwhelmed, closed her eyes as tears silently streamed down her face. Rose, ever the protective and nurturing figure, gently tucked a strand of Giva's hair behind her ear and pressed a kiss to her forehead.
