Chapter 19: Memories

I started to drift asleep to the flashback of the day I first saw Taehyung.

When my mom was still alive, we were a happy little family of 3. Lisa wasn't old enough to travel with us so we left her with my aunt and uncle for the weekend of my last week of summer break before high school. We were travelling up north to a famous camp site away from our house. There was a really bad traffic jam but it didn't bother us since we were all having a great time in the car. I was going to fall asleep until I looked out the window and saw him. He was in the car next to mine and he noticed me staring. He looked at me and I looked away and when I looked back, he was still staring at me. He held up his hands and stared right into my eyes. I looked away and felt myself blushing.

"Dad, how long is this going to take?" I ask.

"Around 20 minutes more. I'm sorry it's taking so long sweetheart" he replied.

I sighed and looked back outside and the boy has been holding his hands up to play a match of rock, paper, scissors with me. I grin and I hold my hands up to do the same. I won the first two rounds, he won a round. We were having so much fun until the traffic has calmed down and they were driving a lane away from us. Despair has hit me when I realized that I won't see this boy again.

We drive into the parking lot and park our car. We get out of the car and go to our cabin. Once we unpacked our stuff, I threw myself on my bed.

"Get up honey we're going to go to the hiking tour and it starts in 10 minutes!" he says while tickling me. I laugh and struggle to escape and my mom comes and joins my dad in tickling me. My face was turning red due to the excessive amount of laughter and I jumped out of my bed and ran out of the cabin. I ran into someone really hard and we both fell. I got up and looked around to see if my parents were there, but it seems like they were both still in the cabin.

"Ow, what the heck" she said.

"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry!" I said while helping the girl up. "Are you okay?"

"Y-Yeah. Sorry I wasn't looking where I was going, I'm trying to go to the hiking tour with my family but I lost them. Do you know where it is?" she replies.

"I'm going there with my family too! We'll bring you. I'm Y/N by the way" I say while walking to my cabin.

"Jisoo" she smiles.

My parents come out right when we were going to enter the cabin. "Oh my! You made a friend already!" my mom smiles. "I'm Y/N's mom and this man is her dad" she laughs. "Mom, this is Jisoo! She lost her family on the way of the hiking tour so I told her she can come with us, she'll find them there" I said. "Sounds good Y/N. You're so sweet" dad said.

We all quickly walk to the hiking tour site and I spot him. My heart skips a beat. The boy then looks at Jisoo and waves her over. Her eyes brighten as she tells me that she found her family.

"That's my brother!" she says while pointing at the boy. Brother? The cute boy I saw during the traffic jam? Oh my G. I smile and wave to her as she runs across to go to him. The boy and I make eye contact for 5 seconds but it felt like an eternity. "Y/N? Y/N? Y/NNNNN? Are you listening?" mom asks. "Y-Yeah mom. I'm listening..." I said while turning away.

"The tour guide is explain important things, you have to pay attention!" she whisper-shouted to me. "Sorry mom. It's just... I see a really cute boy and apparently he's Jisoo's brother!" I exclaim.

"That's very cute honey, but right now he's explaining something very important so we have to listen" mom says while brushing my hair out of my face. "Do you know what he said?" I asked. "No honey, we'll ask dad. This is why you shouldn't get distracted" she says sternly. I nod.
