I was awoken early in the morning by Echo saying something about Jinx being out setting off blue smoke. I thought this was pretty weird so I hurried up getting my clothes on. After I was done getting ready I walked outside to Echo. Boy is it cold, I thought to myself.
"So what is it about Jinx?" I asked, shivering a little.
"She's got a special crystal from Piltover that we could use. Right now just happens to be the perfect time because she's showing us where she is. Because of the smoke." Echo explained.
"Ahhh ok let's get this over with. No dying you here." I sighed.
"Same goes for you." He replied, rolling his eyes. The squad and I rolled out on our boards through the tunnels. Rolling up I saw Jinx and Vi. Wait Vi! What is she doing here I thought.
"Do you hear that?" Jinx asked, pulling out her machine gun. Zoom! Swish! We came zipping through, as Jinx started shooting. As I flew around looking for the blue orb Vi and Jinx stood back to back ready to fight. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Caitlyn pick it up. Quickly I rushed over as she was running away. I hopped off the board then punched her right in the face.
"Sorry, not sorry." I giggled. I then grabbed the orb out of her hand then put it in my bag. Quickly I set off a smoke flare as I picked Caitlyn up and took her away on my board. I handed her off to a firelight that was still in the tunnel to join back in the fight. Flying I watched Vi beat up a firelight but when she wasn't looking he knocked her out. She fell almost lifeless on the ground. The firelight was just about to kill her when I zoomed over picking her up.
"We're taking her." I told him sternly. Throwing another smoke bomb I zoomed out with Vi. The firelight followed suit right behind me.
"What are we going to do with them?" I asked, sitting on the arm of Echoes chair.
"We're gonna talk to Vi first." Echo replied as he sat in his chair. A Firelight then brought Vi out tying her hands to a pole so as to not escape. The Firelight then removed the bag over her head so she could see us.
"You guys shy? Or just ugly?" Vi retorted as we still had our masks on.
"Hahaha." I laughed it off. Echo then stood up next to her taking his mask off.
"You look good for a dead girl." He retorted back.
"Good one Echo! I was gonna say that's a bit rude to say to an old friend." I said kneeling down to Vi as I took my mask off.
"Y/n? Echo?" She said looking at our faces.
Wasting no time Echo asked, "What do you know about this?" He then pulled out the blue orb.
"Nothing. What the hell is this all about?" Vi answered.
"Well dear, what were you doing with the jinx?" I asked, grabbing her chin to look at me. I honestly had no idea where this confidence was coming from. Maybe because she was tied up?
"Her name is Powder! And I just found her when you and your goons showed up." Vi responded. "It's me Vi! Same person who used to dance and sing with you in the Last Drop." She said in my face. "I even hosed you down when you were covered in grease." She argued at Echo. I let go over her then turned around crossing my arms.
"That was a long time ago. People change." Echo told her.
"Dont cry, don't cry." I told myself.
"Yeah I'm getting that." Vi replied.
"Are you working for Silco?" Echo questioned her.
"Fuck you." Vi scoffed.
"Hahahaha.." I began laughing at what she said. "We thought you were dead, Vi! Then you just come around with AN ENFORCER just showing her around." I shouted turning around to face her.
"You were following us? Why didn't you say anything?" Her face was in shock and worry.
"You didn't even bat an eye when you saw me. And plus with that enforcer how could I know if you were trustworthy." I told her. Her face became more shocked now realizing she recognized me from before.
"You are a part of the firelights. The girl I thought was you at Jerichos was really you." Vi said, beginning to feel sorry and stupid. I turned away as she spoke to Echo, "so then you both just come out swinging?"
"Gee I wonder who I learned that from?" Echo responded.
"Well you should have learned more, you still punch like a little boy." Vi retorted.
"Well you still block with your face." Echo called back.
"I remember when you wouldn't stand up to me. Missed you little man" Vi said as the cuffs came undone. I quickly turned around at the noise. She then reached out and hugged him.
"How long have you had those off?" Echo asked.
"How long have you been whining?" She answered. Echo hugged her back and that's when I could tell he was finally at peace so I would be too. She then let go of him and walked over to me. My arms were crossed and not so welcoming as I was still somewhat upset.
"Come here girly." She said with open arms.
"What about your little enforcer friend? Isn't she your cupcake?" I asked her while still standing there with my arms crossed.
"Honestly I'm not what she is to me. And people change like Echo said, but I would like to get to know you again." She explained. I then ran into her arms and hugged her tightly. She then quickly hugged me back just as tight.
"I missed you so much. I thought you were dead." I started crying in her chest.
"I missed you too." She said resting her head into the crook of my neck.
"Come on love birds." Echo said walking out. Flustered, I let go and followed behind him.
"Is that a real tree?" Vi asked as we walked out into the light.
"Pretty cool huh? When y/n and I first saw it I knew this was the place. If a single seed could make it down here, so could we." He said leaning against the railing.
"You both built all this?" Vi asked, looking around.
"Not alone. After Vander.. died, Silco flooded the lanes with shimmer. He didn't care what it did to people. Everyone here was either an addict or a victim." I explained as we watched the kids play.
"Hi Miss Firelight!" Vee waved at us. I waved back with a big smile.
"They need somewhere safe to start again." Echo replied.
Then there was a pause till Vi then spoke in frustration. "I should have been there. For you both. For everyone."
"That's a good way to drive yourself crazy." Echo explained. "Maybe if I just went with you that day maybe none of this would have happened." Echo said as a firelight landed in front of me.
"Or maybe you'd be dead, or changed." I butt in.
"Powders gone Vi. All that's left is Jinxand she belongs to Silco." Echo told Vi.
"You're wrong. She's still in there. I can reach her." Vi retorted.
"Vi trust me I tried." I told her.
"I know my sister." She said back. I sighed in frustration turning back to the firelight.
"I have one more thing to show you." Echo said to her. As he then walked off toward the mural. Vi followed him but not before looking back at me. I was still too distracted by the firelight to look at her. Once she walked away I followed behind her.
Standing behind them both I looked at the beautiful paintings of everyone.
"This is everyone we lost. The price of our freedom. Some of it was Enforcers. Most was Silco." Echo explained. "Your sister works for him not because she has to, but because she wants to. I'm sorry but that's who she is now." Echo told her in frustration.
"I'll get the enforcer." I told them as I walked away. As I walked into the room I put my mask on. I then grabbed a bowl to put water in it. I then untied her and took off the bag on her head. When I offered her the water she knocked it out of my hand.
"What have you done with Vi?" Caitlyn yelled.
"Now is that how you treat someone who saved your life twice?" I asked her as I took my mask.
"Wait, you're not from Piltover?!" She asked, perplexed.
"Hahahaha. Nope." I replied, fixing my hair. "I did a pretty good impression though, no?"
"Then where's Vi, why would you just save me?" She blurted out.
"Well Vi says we can trust you." I told her as Vi and Echo walked in.
"My hero." Vi says flirtatiously.
"I- I thought- they were hurting you." Caitlyn explained herself. Hearing this was like a shot to the heart. But I ignored it.
"You get a pass back topside, that's it. Let's go." Echo told her.
