Chapter -5.

Days passed by and Maya slowly started getting along with Kasturi and Vikram. But whenever she needs something, the first person in her mind is Dharani.
Mahendra spoke with Vikram about Prithvi's health, Maya and also regarding the marriage  proposal for Dharani ,but the conservation  didn't go well.

Mahendera Srivatsav :
" Hello, Vikram how are you doing.
What about others in the house".

Vikram:
" Everything is fine dad. Shall I come to the village to visit you. Do you need something ".

MahendraSrivatsav:
" No, I heard from Kasturi that Prithvi is injured. Shall I talk to him. I know that you and Kasturi are worried about him. I am not against his dedication or commitment but there are other wings in defence where he can work. He need not work in those classified missions  putting himself at risk.
Let me feed some sense into his mind. We are getting old and can't take any news which we will never be able to digest ".

Vikram :
" I appreciate your concern dad. But don't bother yourself. We worked for the defence and we know  how things work there. Let's not kill his passion. I could not  achieve more considering my situation. Let him try at least."

Mahendra Srivatsav :
" I am not asking him to quit his job. I am just suggesting for the change in his area. Leave it,you will not understand my concern.
By the way, how could you be so partial towards your son to your granddaughter.
Dharani got placement and was waiting for her call letter. Why don't you give her that time to work.
Why are you so desperate in getting her married. She is hardly 22 years. Can't  you leave her for 2years atleast ".

Vikram:
"  Dad, Dharani is my responsibility. I know what I am doing. I am not against her working. She can continue her work after getting married".

Mahendra Srivastav:
"  How can you give that assurance on behalf of the person whom you don't even know. You will get her married with someone whom you had never seen. Do you trust her with a stranger. How can you be at peace when her safety is at stake.
Think properly Vikram. Did you ever asked her if she had someone in mind. Do you know what she actually wanted. Did you ever spoke to her with love. Did you care for her. This  is not how you nurture your  granddaughter. Lalitha trusted you with her daughter don't disappoint her soul in the heavens."

Vikram:
" Dad , Is Dharani in love with someone. Why didn't I know it before. Do you know who he is".

Mahendar Srivastav:
" Even I don't know. I just asked you my doubt. You got married with the love of your life. Even your daughter was married  to one she loved and Dharani belongs to our family. So I have my set of doubts excepting the history  to repeat.
You need to have a good conversation with her. Know her heart first.Don't take any decision in haste and spoil her future.
By the way how is Maya. How old is she."

Vikram:
" She is getting along with us dad. She is 12 years old".

Mahendar Srivastav:
" Oho. What about her studies. Did you enroll her admission in the school. Don't neglect her studies.
God was cruel to us by taking away our dear ones from our family but now he felt pity and blessed us with these kids. I pray to  God to keep the safe and healthy."

Vikram:
" Dad our house turned more lively when Maya entered our house. I saw some changes in Dharani. She is having a good time with her.
By the way dad,  with Maya's stubbornness, we enrolled her in KV  school in Hyderabad. It's almost 2 hours journey from our house. So , she said she will stay in the school hostel and come home in the weekend and holidays. We tried to convince her but even Prithvi supported her decision .
She will attend her classes next
week."
