Days passed by quickly. Dharani and Prithvi went back to Hyderabad. Kasturi and Vikram came home a day before. When Prithvi and Dharani came back, Kasturi had a good chat with Dharani.
After lunch, when everyone retired to their room, Vikram called Dharani to his study. Dharani felt emotional and nervous at the same time. Her answer will decide her fate and this is her final chance to confess her love. She took a long time to decide. Finally, she mustered up her courage and went to her Grandpa's room. On seeing Dharani, Vikram asked her to sit and then spoke.
Vikram: " You took a long time to come. Are you busy Dharani".
Dharani: " Yes. I was checking my emails. The good news is I received my joining letter. I was expected to join the company in the next week , Thursday. I need to pack my bags and other essentials ".
Vikram : " That's a super good news. I am so proud of you, Dharani. But, me and your Grandma will be left alone in this house. Your Prithvi mama will be joining duty in two weeks . But, the better part is we will be able to meet Maya on every weekend. We can spend some time with her. After you settle down there make some time to visit us on the Festivals atleast. Don't tell you Grandma about the offer letter immediately. She will start crying from now itself. I will speak to her. Ok."
Dharani got her offer letter when she was checking her mails. She felt that this was a golden opportunity for her to convince her Grandpa to postpone the proposal. That was the reason why she walked into the study with hope.
Dharani: " Even it will be difficult for me to stay away from you people. I was brought up by you people and I never stayed away from you for more than a week. It will get difficult for me to adjust with new people and new environment ".
Vikram: " But that is life Ma. If you get married you will lead a life with a new family. Everything will be new to you. But, you will get adjusted with time. Now I remember that we visited the groom's family to check his background. He studied Electronics and Communication engineering from IIT Madras. He is working for Info tech, Bangalore. He is Senior software consultant and gets a decent pay. His father is a retired bank employee, mother being a house wife. It's a small and decent family.
