Prithvi made his way to the kitchen. By the time Prithvi went to the kitchen Vikram and Mahendra were ready. They got themselves busy directing the workers in decorating the main dwaram with mango leaves and marigold flowers. Mahendra was plucking the flowers for the Pooja. He was dressed in Dhoti and shirt twining with Prithvi.

Main door of Vikram 's house
Vikram’s house is a cozy duplex villa. On the ground floor we have the kitchen, master bedroom, a study room and a guest room. After Prithvi turned 12, he used the study room as his bedroom and was still using it.
On the first floor, they have three rooms. One bedroom which is similar to the master bedroom on the ground floor. This bedroom belongs to Lalitha and Arun. The other one is Dharani and Maya ‘s bedroom. The next one is the guests room.
After Lalitha and Arun’s dismissal, the room was locked. Kasturi made sure that the room was cleaned and dusted regularly. It has only the marriage photo of Lalitha and Arun.

The guest room on the first floor had no beds. It was not used at all. The second floor is the terrace which has plants and cloth rope for the clothes to dry.
Dharani was in Prithvi 's room urging Maya to get up and get ready quickly. Maya sulked in irritation but finally gave up to her Didi’s continuously nagging.
When she was walking past the room, she happened to see Prithvi dressed in Dhoti and shirt. She chuckled seeing him and said,
Maya: “ You look better in this outfit. We people got fed up seeing in those camouflage pants and t-shirts all the time. Try to look like a civilian at home”
