Felix stared in disbelief at the rose growing out of the ground, unable to move even as Chan cried beside him. The flower's petals were many different colors, blue, purple, yellow, pink, all of which should have been impossible. He looked up at Chan, who was staring at his hands with a similar expression of disbelief, his face wet with tears.

Somehow, Queen Paradise had sealed her magic away and Chan sitting in her throne had given him those powers. He could control plants.

Chan let out a shaky breath through his tears and whispered, "They... they're speaking to me. It's... it's a language I shouldn't understand." He looked like he was seconds away from truly breaking down, so Felix stepped closer to him and wrapped his arms around the vampire. No sooner than Chan was safely enveloped in Felix's arms and wings did he break down. He sobbed harder into Felix's shoulder, completely overwhelmed.

Don't be sad! We mean no harm! The plants everywhere echoed inside of Chan's head, just causing him to sob harder. However, it seemed as if the plants reacted to his emotions, because from the cracks in the ballroom's foundations, many different types of flora grew through, reaching out towards Chan and Felix. The rose that Chan had bloomed brushed against the barrier of Felix's wings, wanting to reach Chan but unable to.

Felix glared at the plants and they all shrunk backward, as if they could understand him. The elytrian sighed and rested his head on top of Chan's comfortingly. Chan calmed slightly, his tears slowing, but he was still shuddering.

Why?! Why so sad?! The plants screamed and this time even Felix could faintly hear them. His face softened and he turned to the plants, hoping they'd be able to understand him this time as well. "You just overwhelmed him. He can't handle all of this at once." Thankfully, the plants seemed to understand and they stopped moving so violently. Chan relaxed a moment later, so Felix assumed they also stopped talking so loud in the vampire's head. Felix gave the plants a grateful smile, happy that they could understand him.

It was then that the others finally found them when Seungmin stumbled into the room. He was so terrified and worried that he almost looked crazy. He was letting out all kinds of worried chuffs and whimpers and Felix responded with a comforting chirp. Seungmin finally looked down and saw Felix and Chan curled up together on the floor.

When Jeongin, Hyunjin, and Astraea followed Seungmin into the room, they all looked upon the scene in utter bewilderment. All around them were plants that were moving more unnaturally than plants should, and Felix was sitting on the floor with Chan in his lap still crying.

"What the hell is going on here? Why is Chan crying?" Hyunjin asked worriedly. Chan just sniffled and reached out, making grabby hands at the blazeborne. Hyunjin smiled softly and sat down on the ground, making himself comfortable once Felix stretched his wing open to let him in.

"He has magic, Jinnie," Felix murmured, hearing a shocked gasp from either Jeongin or Astraea. "He can speak to the plants and control them, but it overwhelmed him. He couldn't handle it."

Hyunjin's eyes widened and he looked around the room at the plants moving all around them, finally understanding what was going on. "So he's like Queen Paradise?"

"He sat on the throne, the room collapsed, and suddenly we were in a memory belonging to Paradise where she sealed her magic away and told the deities to give it to her most worthy ancestor. To Chan. We got out of the memory and he bloomed that rose," Felix said, pointing to the impossible multicolored rose just a few feet away from them. Chan whimpered quietly at the mention of his name, and both Hyunjin and Felix pulled him tighter into their embrace. Hyunjin reached over and gently ran his fingers over the flower. It snapped its petals shut in response and he pulled his hand away abruptly.
