Hinata had only one memory of her parents, and one of her mothers wasn't even in it. She isn't sure how much of it she made up since she was barely two years old, but it's comforting to know she at least has something, even if the face of her mother was always blurry.

It starts out with her sire singing a song to her and her siblings. The same song that Hinata asked Felix to sing all the time. Their mama's song.

"Mom, where did that song come from?" Minho had asked, curious about the origins of their mother's song.

"Your mother learned it from her mother and her mother learned it from her mother and so on. That song has been in your mother's family for centuries."

"Like back in magic times!" Felix exclaimed, his tiny fledgeling wings fluttering with his excitement.

Their mom laughed softly. "It's the Golden Age, kiddo, but yes. It's thought to have originated all the way back then."

"Way back then!" Seungmin echoed with a grin while Astraea babbled in his arms.

Mom smiled softly at his son. "Yes, way back then. Alright, time for bed."

Hinata's older siblings whined and moaned, but eventually, their mom was able to corral them into bed.

"Goodnight, my loves. Sleep well."

"Do we have an extra horse?!" Hyunjin shouted to no one in particular as they all raced around to get packed up once more.

"Yeah, you can take Mystique!" Paradise shouted back. She was the member of the crew that tended to the horses, as they just responded best to her.

It had taken a couple of weeks, but eventually Lark had recovered enough to be able to ride with them. The first thing Hyunjin had done once they were done in the infirmary tent was ask Chan if Lark could join them. Chan, of course, said yes, as he'd never been able to resist Hyunjin's puppy-eyes.

Lark was just observing the crew and their preparations when Felix shifted. It startled her, and she stared at the werewolf in disbelief.

"Oh, yeah, I guess you don't really know what species we all are." Hyunjin pointed out when he noticed Lark's expression.

Astraea spoke up from behind them, startling Lark once more. "You'll figure us all out pretty quickly."

Lark smiled kindly at the younger girl. "I'm sure I will. I only startled because I've never seen a werewolf shifting before."

Astraea laughed quietly. "Yeah, it can be a little jarring the first time. I've grown up surrounded by shifters. I am one myself."

Felix smiled, "Except you didn't end up shifting for the first time until you were ten." He said through the family mindlink.

Astraea rolled her eyes. "Because I saw how painful shifting was for you and I was terrified of it, okay? You know that."

"It's not that scary, Star." Felix snickered in her mind. Astraea rolled her eyes once more at her brother's teasing.

"I know that now, dumbass." She griped, kicking at his back legs. He jumped out of the way and she could hear his laugh ringing in her head as he ran away from her.

"You okay?" Archer asked worriedly once Hinata walked up to them and Pandora. The werewolf's face was twisted with worry and she was chewing on the tips of her fingers. "You look stressed."

Hinata frowned. "Felix's hiding something for us, and I think it's affecting him negatively."

Pandora's brows furrowed and she asked, "Is he okay?"

"I don't know. Every time I try to ask him about it he shuts me down. And he's been looking more and more tired lately." Hinata replied.

Pandora smiled sadly, taking Hinata's hand in her own. "It's okay, Nana. You're allowed to be worried. I'd be worried about you if you weren't."

Hinata chuckled at that, but she remained silent.

"Luckily, we're leaving soon, so all you have to focus on is the path ahead of us." Archer added.

"Hey, Wonder Trio! Get ready to leave!" Lanthe shouted as she ran past them. Hinata rolled her eyes at the name she called them, but she shifted into her wolf form.

Archer reached down and scratched between Hinata's ears as Pandora lifted into the air. The buzzing of Pandora's fairy wings was a comforting sound to hear. Hinata knew the journey ahead wouldn't be easy, but she had her best friends with her.

Felix watched as Chan mounted his horse. Everyone was waiting for him to give the signal. It came in the form of Violet's loud whistling and Chan shooting off a flare gun. That way, everyone in the back could see it and know they were moving.

Chan started moving and everyone else moved with him. He was their leader, after all, and they would follow no one but him. He'd been their leader ever since they were kids, even before they created the Sun Searchers.

When they were young, he'd be the person leading any outing they had. If they wanted to go to the sea, he would be at the front of the group leading the way. If they wanted to run into fire, he'd be right there leading them in. He was a natural-born leader.

They all looked up to him and followed him no matter what.

He could lead them to their doom and they would follow willingly.
