It was my responsibility to brief the pilots on the impending operation before we arrived at our destination. Our destination is the area around Aeten II, where a patrol fleet was ambushed and destroyed after they were able to confirm a potential location estimate for potential rebel cells.

Since we are the closing ship, we were called in to intercept and secure the information after one of the patrol's officers was able to release a priority one distress call and notify command of their predicament.

With that notice, I advise the pilots to exercise caution and spread out the formation in groups of four fighters each, even though we have the numbers and know the rebels can destroy three patrol ships on their own. I recommend not employing our common swarm strategies.

We are going to arrive, so I was told to go to the bridge after assigning each pilot to their squad. When I arrived at the bridge, the captain asked me to take charge of this operation as a test of my ability to steer the ship without his guidance based on the limited knowledge I had.

I ordered the crew to prepare to activate the weapon systems and shield when we left hyperspace, including the hangar bay door, as soon as I received his authorization command. Since the rebels might ambush you when you get there, it's best to be prepared for the worst.

As we emerged from hyperspace, we encountered a debree field consisting of two gozanti and one light cruiser that were irreparably damaged. Following the fighter squadrons' launch, they were placed on standby, along with the dispatch of an interceptor squad to conduct forward scouting.

After the interceptor squadron's sensors failed to detect any ships, I requested a response from the Light Cruiser. "This is the Renaissance. Please respond." It took two minutes for there to be any response before the light cruiser gave me some feedback. "We hear you; this is The Requiem."

"It appears that you have requested assistance. Please wait while we dispatch a rescue team to your ship." As soon as I ordered a squad to get ready in the hangar bar to evacuate the Admiral, a small group of rebel ships emerged from hyperspace and confronted us, setting off our sensors to go into overdrive.

A Pelta Class ship and two Corvette Class ships emerged from hyperspace and launched their squadron of A Wing Fighters, which included a shuttle that might have been carrying boarding parties.

"As near to the firing range as possible, use full impulse power. Squadrons 2 and 5 engage the shuttle and destroy it; Squadrons 1, 3, and 6 engage the fighters and do not allow them to approach. Squadron 4 maintains watch over the ship's aft section and remains in reserve, waiting for my orders."

Following the order to engage, all of the fighters engaged the A wings, and our ship used our anti-aircraft weapons to provide covering fire to keep the fighters from passing through them. Upon learning that Squadron 2 had successfully destroyed the shuttle, I authorized the rescue team to proceed toward the Requiem in order to save the admiral.

As we approached the firing line, I gave the crewman the order to aim for both Corvettes while keeping the Pelta class deactivated. When the Renaissance reached firing range, it fired all of its turbolasers, instantly destroying both corvettes with our overwhelming firepower.

We fire upon the engine of the Pelta Class to prevent it from retreating just as it is about to do so. During that conversation, it was revealed that the rescue team had successfully saved the admiral, who was receiving medical attention on the shuttle on the way back. They had also won the dog fight, with only one squadron destroyed thanks to the interceptors, turning the tide of battle in their favor.

We used the tractor beam to apprehend the rebels on the Pelta Class for interrogation as soon as the fighter managed to dock into the hangar bay. Security was dispatched to the ship after we captured the Pelta class in order to capture the rebels and hold them in the brig until we could send them to the right people.

We lost about ten storm troopers in the crossfire, according to the reports, but we were still able to take the rebel officer and the bridge. Following a fruitful mission, we headed to Coruscant to deliver the admiral and the captured prisoners to Imperial Intelligence.

"Admiral, apologies, but why were you near the Aeten II?" I was inquiring as to the rationale behind the admiral's dispatch to that location. "Well, I suppose it would make sense to divulge the information, given that you saved me earlier." He motioned for me to close the office.

I make sure this information is not heard by prying ears after I close the office door. "Colonel Yularen of the ISB sent me to scout this area for potential rebel activity, and he was right to do so—just as I was about to enter hyperspace, the rebels ambushed me."

"They were quick to take out my escorts and disable my weapons. They also managed to fire in the engine room, cutting off the power to the entire ship. Nevertheless, I managed to send out a distress call with the ship's remaining power."

"However, because of the attacks, I was able to verify that the rebel cells originated in the outer rim. Based on their most recent jump, which occurred prior to your arrival, it appears that they are moving into the mid-rim and accessing the core worlds."

As I consider the details, I hear the admiral calling out to me. "I believe it's best for you to earn your promotion after this because of your leadership skills, but it appears you recently left the academy. Rest assured, I'll send a report to the command praising your actions today once we arrive in Coruscant. I might need you in the future, at some point."

After that, I walked out of the office and over to the bridge that overlooked hyperspace and the crew. Even though we already know where we're going, we never know what awaits us when we exit this hyperspace.
