Only their flag ship, the "Aurora," is left after the Rebels' abortive effort to strike Kuat. Thanks to my tracking device, we can now determine the ship's route and the possibility that it will seek sanctuary with its allies. We are ensuring the defense here to make sure that Project Eclipse proceeds as planned, so for the time being, we are not pursuing it. I will require a larger ship in the meantime since Lord Vader obtained the executor. I think it's time to revamp the Star Dreadnought, but with the Procurator class implemented, it becomes more difficult to defeat or face since, despite its power, the Executor has serious design flaws that I can address and modify.
However, I also have to revamp and enhance the power guard project in a short period of time. I have to request that all power guards return to Planet Nur for significant enhancements, as the rebels' growing adaptability is driving up the need for improvement. The alloy Cortosis has been mined by my top scientist at WCKD, who is also able to combine its substance with beskar to create a special alloy that, when struck, deactivates the lightsaber and deflects it, allowing the power guard an opportunity. In order to defeat powerful adversaries, we also needed to increase its offensive and defensive capabilities.
We are able to produce the Power Guards Mark 5 as a result of these improvement results, since the first few batches will be tested directly against a Jedi Knight or Jedi who has been adapted to defeat the Power Guards in order to observe their potential for improvement. Only 51% of Project Eclipse has been completed, according to the results I have received. This startled me because the pace of the project has accelerated over the course of the month, despite fewer raids and more work being done by private contractors.
We have also strengthened our defenses over Kuat with the help of Captain Anton Kale, who offered to help me out because I lacked a capital ship. At first, I didn't mind because I still had the defiant ships to rely on, but this is only to improve our chances of making sure the rebels won't hesitate to attack again.
According to recent reports, a fleet that attacked Mon Cala was defeated by a smaller fleet of Mon Calamari, demonstrating our vulnerability as the fleet admiral and representative of that fleet survived and is currently traveling to Kuat to replenish and repair their ships in preparation for a costly counterattack. I asked Aenee to ask for his presence on my ship and permit his ships to be repaired upon the arrival of the admiral ship.
When the Admiral and his representative arrived in Kuat, Aenee completed her routine security checks and requested for them to be stationed aboard my flagship so they could be "debriefed." When they arrived, they were intrigued by my ship and complimented its design as well as the Defiants' desire to counterattack and win Mon Cala. The Defiants, in my opinion, are the ideal vessel for both attack and defense because they were intended to replace the capital ship, which was intended to be a costly design. However, the rebels' defeat at the hands of his lack of use of tactics, strategy, and analysis has made them more conceited and will likely lead to another attack on Kuat.
After that, I decided that I could not stand another failure or example of admiral leadership like this, so I killed the admiral with my bare hands while my officers, the captain acting as his representative, and the other officers watched. I didn't even grab my blaster at that point. With my hands drenched in blood, I gestured to the remaining officers, demonstrating the consequences of failing and creating a false impression of our empire.
The captain and officers were frightened by my impression, but they quickly went back to work. After killing the admiral, I approached the captain, who was terrified of me because of what I had shown him. I tried to comfort him by placing my hand on his shoulder, but he was still trembling from sheer terror. He was unresponsive when I told him to return to Coruscant and ask for a reassignment, so he bolted for the hangar.
His face could be evidence that he is considering joining the rebellion instead of defecting from the empire. The shuttle the captain was aboard had been wiped out before it even reached the hyperspace route when I gave the order for my ship to start fire on it. This had little effect on my first officer, Aenee, who supported my actions because of the arrogance displayed by the admiral on Mon Cala and the costly defeat they had caused.
My demonstration of the penalties and repercussions I had imposed on the officers had gone viral over the Imperial network, resulting in a conference with the High Command where Lord Vader and the Emperor were present. I was annoyed by the high command majorities' incompetent officers and their constant underestimation of their opponents during the entire meeting.
Because of my capacity to command and my ability to perceive the empire in a way that interests the Emperor even more, I was dubbed Kodo Ringbey the Ruthless by the high command, who, it seems, were mocking and calling me insults because of how I handled failures so painfully that even the high command were disgusted.
After the meaningless discussion and meeting with high command, I found myself alone with Lord Vader and the Emperor. They complimented me on my strength and asked me to explain why I executed the Admiral for his unsuccessful attempt to take Mon Cala, which was so unsettling that I didn't even need to use my blaster.
On my behalf, I explain that the Admiral failed catastrophically to destroy a small fleet and a damaged flagship without even planning, relying instead on standard strategies with which the rebels were familiar. The reason for the execution with just my fist is that, in all honesty, I never enjoy using blasters because the act of simply pulling the trigger is too easy and quick, feeling hurried, like placing an order for food or parts. Since it's easier to feel the rush of adrenaline and pressure in your fist than it is to be slowly choked to death, it's a more satisfying way to kill, as the one thing that I truly enjoy is martial arts.
Even though it may seem unnatural, the best way to enjoy a fight is when you are under pressure. Blaster, lightsaber, the force—all of this is cool and all, but the rush of adrenaline and the feeling you get after punching an opponent are more satisfying than cutting and being able to live or conjure lightning.
More significantly, though, my agents informed me of Mon Cala's defenses before the meeting, confirming their present defenses and preparations. Admiral Gial Ackbar's flagship is undergoing repairs and will remain so until further notice. Agent Kallus, our beloved friend from long ago, will be in charge of the defenses from his MC 75 cruiser flagship.
I further add that there's a chance Kuat could be defended by my interim replacement, Captain Anton Cale, with the help of the Defiants. The Emperor has given me the go-ahead to get ready for the attack on Mon Cala and bring about a win since doing so will make the rebels more tactical and waste their resources trying to take a shipyard.
After the discussion, I asked Aenee, my first officer, to set up a meeting with Captain Anton and the other members of the fleet. I briefed the officers, including Captain Anton, on an update from the Emperor himself as soon as they boarded my flagship. We are heading to Mon Cala without the defendants and will only be using the ships we currently have. The emperor wanted my fleet to engage the defenses on Mon Cala and release its control and backing of the rebel coalition, but my absence from Kuat may draw notice. A second star destroyer and an interdictor-class star destroyer that are en route to Kuat will also help us bolster our numbers.
Mon Cala is well protected, as I had predicted based on Aenee's updated reports. This included the Agent Kallus flagship, an MC75 Star cruiser, two Nebulon B frigates, two Hammerhead Corvettes, and three CR90 Corvettes. This means that they are only defending Mon Cala with 8 ships, and when we add up the reinforcement that is on its way, our numbers will equal theirs.
We have a strong rivalry with them because their Mon Calamari vessel can withstand significant damage from the Star Destroyer, so I'll need to plan my move carefully. In the meantime, we can use our fighters while the officers get their crew ready. I was getting ready and planning how to make things work in my favor.
