We have been preparing since reinforcements finally arrived in Kuat, and I have been busy arranging my fleet into formation and organizing an offensive strategy to take on Kallus and his fleet. The enemy Mon Calamari ships have a lot of damage on their hulls, so it will be challenging to counter each of them.
My first officer, Aenee, and I have been discussing our offensive strategy for hours and days, and we have finally come to an agreement on a plan that we believe will give us the upper hand. Knowing that the rebels are employing Old Republic strategies, the plan is for them to bait us into attacking them, weakening our defenses by having their bombers launch ion torpedoes to render us defenseless. As a result, the Storm Squadron will have to engage the enemy fighters, allowing us to deal with the enemy ships.
That's just the beginning; the Bane Squadron will need to travel behind the fleet while we engage the ship with the fleet. Once they reach a specific distance, they will rise and assault the frigates and corvettes because they are aware of their ability to support and engage fighters. However, we will destroy one of the frigates and disable the other to trick Kallus into defending it with its hull while their fighters are occupied with Storm Squadron and the amount of fighter support. This is because we know that Kallus would use his ship as a shield.
The captain of the support fleet will circle the fleet during the battle, cutting off the rebel ship's right and left flanks, creating an encircling movement that will make it difficult for the rebel ship to decide with whom to engage. However, knowing the rebels, they will either aim for the biggest fish, my flagship, the Renaissance II, or they will boldly charge towards the interdictor in order to give themselves a chance to escape.
Aenee will be establishing a blockade with the remaining ships and fighters to protect the interdictor while I engage the enemy fleet. She will even give me the command for the fighters to be available to support me and take advantage of me. I also gave her the command to keep a small squad of bombers on standby so that when the enemy is distracted and the attack reaches phase 2, she will have to launch a squadron of bombers, destroying their shipyard and any ships that are being built or repaired.
While the fleet was in formation, we entered hyperspace and made our way to Mon Cala, where we will ultimately put an end to the rebellion and disrupt many of its activities. Because of this, the rebels will be forced to rely on the remaining ships and launch a desperate attack as payback on one of our core worlds.
The rebels are taken aback by the sheer number of ships that approach from Mon Cala's dark side as my fleet arrives from the shadows and darkness of space. At last, the hyperdrive motor hummed to a stop, and our vessel aligned itself, prepared to go as planned. The rebels, as expected, launched their fighters in an attempt to destroy our weapons, but we were able to intercept several fighters and bombers, partially due in part to Storm Squadron's deployment upon our arrival; even if some of the bombers managed to get through, the sheer volume of turbolaser fire from my fleet alongside TIE fighters would bring them down.
Phase 2 will begin with the ships positioning themselves to surround and assault the enemy from the sides of every corvette and frigate, while my flagship, the Renaissance II, will be assisted from my flank. Every ship engaged in phase 2 opened fire, causing every turbolaser to destroy nearly every Corvette. Their flagship promptly moved in front of the seriously damaged Corvettes that were attempting to flee, and the frigate helped absorb the damage.
