Rebel POV (Mon Mothma):

The power guards that have been attacking our bases and colonies have forced us to scale back our offensives against the empire, even though we have no idea where the facility is. Our spies have also been unable to locate the creator or any other leading source, suggesting that this project is either exclusive to a higher command or only certain individuals.

Put differently, there have been recent reports of an imperial project to develop a planet-killing weapon, and from what we've heard, it's almost finished. We worry that this weapon will destroy us or that the power guards will do us a favor.

The majority of our spies who managed to obtain information about the Power Guard project were either killed or executed after learning of it, giving the impression that the information was fiercely guarded and that no thief would be allowed to escape with such knowledge.

The bad news is that the pilot carrying the information is being held captive by Saw Garrera, a rogue element. The death star rumor has been circulating throughout the system, and he carries information that could help us destroy the weapon.

Galen Erso, an imperial defector, is identified as the sender of the message with the assistance of our spies. Using this information, we had to use his daughter as leverage to get the information we needed, but since she is currently being held as a prisoner, we sent a task force to get her so we could ask for help without the power guards seeing us.

It was challenging to retrieve her from the prison camp via power guard patrol, but we just about succeeded with the taskforce's sacrifice as they managed to stall the power guard until their inevitable demise.

On the other hand, the power guard has forced many of our Jedi allies to go into hiding or are being pursued because, despite their skill and lightsaber, they are no match for the power guard's versatility. The worst part is that most of our allies and contacts vanished out of the blue and were discovered dead. After some investigation, we speculate that this may have been an imperial execution, but the corpse's wounds did not match imperial patterns.

As our allies are currently being gradually killed by an unidentified source, we are currently at a disadvantage in terms of resources until we identify the assassination's origin. "We are prepared for the meeting, Madam."

At Yavin 4, all of the rebel leaders and supporters congregate around the holotable in the middle of the ancient temple. Amidst the recent assassinations of our allies, we were discussing the reports of the superweapon and the fear that some people felt as the power guards were occupying their territory.

As far as we are aware, an ISB officer or operative is in charge of the projects, as most empire-wide initiatives are overseen by agents or representatives. Just one month has passed since their initial announcement of the new project, and already all of them have created a number of issues that could ultimately lead to the rebellion's downfall.

First the rebel hunter, then the power guard, and now a planet killer—the empire is changing into something we might not even be able to stop as our numbers increase and its technological and tactical might increase. I'm amazed at how much the empire has changed in terms of security and tactics.

All we can hope is that the task force sent to find the pilot will be able to pinpoint his last known location, which is Jedha city, where Garrera is thought to have resisted the empire and remained after his previous loyalists were brutally killed by rebel hunters and power guards.

Our informant also told us about the rise in bounty hunters and assassins who are paid to kill each of us and receive payment in full and with proof. These assassins take their jobs very seriously; agents such as Boba Fett have really given us a lot of grief when attempting to recruit allies from the core worlds and the mid-rim.
