6. Ascension

Colonel Yularen informed us in the meeting when I arrived in Coruscant that the Imperial Security Bureau (ISB) would now be in charge of defending the empire and that any offense against the empire would be classified as a Class 1 crime. Each of us will be given a planet to inhabit, and as our border widens, we will make sure that the information, security, and legality are updated and upheld.

After the meeting, each of us was given a different sector and planet to work on. However, since we are currently confined by Inquisitors hunting in the outer rim, Colonel Yularen and Command chose me to research and develop weapons and analyze outdated Sith Empire technology that could give us an advantage over Jedi enemies.

When looking up ways to counterattack Jedi or weapons that the Sith imperial troops used in the past, reports or historical accounts stated that there was an old research facility in Nar Shaddaa that the Sith used. It was a project that was stolen from the Ancient Old Republic that used cybernetics to enhance the body to overcome Sith, but it was abandoned because it was illegal. Nevertheless, the Sith used it.

In an effort to develop their own versions of the Jedi Knights, the Republic's supersoldiers came up with the "Power Guard Enhancement System" project. With the remaining agents, I directed them to locate this research lab in the Red Light district, locate any holographic recordings of the project, and forward them straight to me.

After researching the project's history and obtaining command approval, I may be able to duplicate but improve it in order to produce our own Super Soldier, who will guarantee victory with a minimum amount of resources.

After a week, the agents safely returned to me with the holo recording, avoiding any suspicion from the rebel spies. I went over the available information. A Sith Lord by the name of Savic stole research from the Republic and used it to successfully create three different versions of the enhancement, but the Jedi ultimately put an end to the project.

After I presented the available data to Command, they decided that I would be given the responsibility of seeing this project through to completion because they were desperate to counter the Jedi, who had caused many of our facilities to collapse.

A facility large enough to develop the project and house captured prisoners as test subjects was established with the approval of the command. However, prior to my arrival at the facility, I made the decision to examine the recording of the procedure to ensure that no errors were made in the calculation.

After several weeks of making sure this project phase was accurately analyzed and repeated, I made the decision that it was time to get ready for our project's first experiment. After requesting the resources of cybernetics and stims for this project, as well as escorting a prisoner towards the lab, I assigned a lead research scientist who was sufficiently motivated to complete the task.

With only slight modifications to the armor and weaponry, we were able to create the first Power Guard ever in a matter of days thanks to his dedication to seeing the first prototype through to completion. According to the research, the first step in applying cybernetics to the test subjects is to brainwash them into becoming nothing more than mindless soldiers.

We put this "Power Guard" to the test by sending him to engage in combat with captured rebel soldiers in a training area where all Storm Troopers had practiced for combat. The Power Guard prototype was so accurate in defeating the Rebel soldier squad that it didn't matter how many shots he took.

In the last test, he will engage in melee combat with a Purge Trooper Staff User who was dispatched by command to evaluate the Power Guard Vanguard's capabilities. The prototype's forced lack of pain perception, combined with increased strength and reaction time, proved too much for the Purge Trooper to overcome, as they were defeated by a narrow margin.

Despite the fact that this test was successful, it is still insufficient because, according to recent reports, the purge trooper is not our "elite" when it comes to hunting Jedi with inquisitors. Even with so many Jedi still managing to elude us, there's still opportunity for them to get better so that a single power guard squad could be sufficient to seize a capital ship.

After months of numerous successes and failures, we have at last created a group of power guard vanguards with enhancements and upgrades that allow them to successfully take down the inquisitor in combat. As a result, I made the decision to present them to the command and to release the first batch as soon as possible.

"Welcome to the inaugural Power Guard project presentation, which aims to demonstrate their immense strength and enable us to combat our adversaries." As I present myself in front of the arrived admiral, including the majesty himself, the emperor,.

"I decided that because of the incompetence of the Inquisitor, I would take action and create something that the Sith had previously used to combat Jedi, and I was successful in doing so as the rebel alliance grew stronger and started to pose a threat to our security and order, including their alliance with remnants of the Jedi."

"I am pleased to introduce the Power Guards to you. Our next generation of Elite Troopers will eliminate our adversaries without ever sending out a single trooper into combat. Even after taking numerous bullets from the enemy, a lone power guard survived to defeat a group of rebel adversaries without getting affected by injuries."

"Watch as the Power Guard defeats the Jedi with only their strength, dominating their opponents even after they stab them or cause them to lose any body parts." Following my speech, the emperor and the high command, Grand Moff Tarkin and Colonel Yularen, appeared pleased with my creation.

All I have to wait for is word of the First Batch of Power Guards' victory in battle after the presentation. As I invested time and energy into making sure the Power Guard project could defeat everyone, including Jedi, I waited and waited, feeling anxious.

Grand Moff Tarkin requested my presence in his office when I received news about my recent batch of Power Guards, which I had been waiting for for a week. I was anxious that I might be punished in his office for this project's failure.

Grand Moff Tarkin, the Emperor, and Colonel Yularen greeted me as I arrived at the office. I was anxious to hear the news, but Colonel Yularen reassured me with pride that my first batch of Power Guards had defeated Rebel Cells assigned to Jedi Knights in the outer rim very quickly. The project was so successful that many of the cells chose to hide and asked for the next batch to be prepared.

I've never been more proud of myself than I am now that I was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel by my batch after they defeated so many Jedi that they embarrassed the inquisitors. Grand Moff Tarkin even revealed to me that a group of ex-Clone Troops will be working on a project to become power guards, giving them another reason to support the most effective death squad in the Empire.

Because there would be a large number of clone troopers that would be converted into power guards on the planet where the Inquisitors are manufactured, Nur, a shadow moon near Mustafar, I was placed in charge of a larger facility known as the Warfare KillZone Catastrophe Department, or WKCD for short.

Because of this, I also have the responsibility of making sure my ship's station is secure and that no rebel will ever get inside the planet. My primary collaborator in this fortress will be Darth Vader, who is also making sure that Inquisitors continue to work with another type of power guard known as Shadow Guards, who will "replace" the Purge Troopers.

I can only be certain that my creation will ensure peace and security across the galaxy, destroy their utopian dream, and put an end to any further rebellion.
