Scott woke up cuddling Wallace and Immediately let go, his face slightly flushed a light pink. He propped himself up against the wall and looked at his roommate. He smiled as he lay the blanket on Wallace, sort of tucking him in. Scott heard a text ding and got up to check his phone. As he suspected, it was Ramona! Scott's fingers typed faster than his brain could think.Wanna hang out?
Yeah! When? Today?
I can do today if you'd like!Yeah. Today.
Okay!!!
Where will we meet?My house, like always.
Oh, ok!!
I don't wanna wake up Wallace though, can you pick me up?Ramona?
Hello?
This was a common occurrence, Scott always had to walk to Ramona's house, he didn't want to ask Wallace to drive him this early, and he didn't have enough money for busfare. Nonetheless, he grabbed his keys and phone and put on his parka. Before he left he wrote a quick note and stuck it on the fridge so Wallace didn't think he was kidnapped or something.
He was then on his way. It was cold. And raining like crazy. Scott didn't want to bother Ramona though, so he toughed it out and tried to jog to her house, although he got tired and eventually started walking instead. Once Scott had made it, he knocked on her door. Again. And again. And again. In total, it took about ten minutes of knocking for Ramona to open the door.
"Who is it- oh. Hey Scott." Ramona had opened the door, indicating for Scott to come in.
"Hi!!!" Scott smiled and walked in cheerfully.
Ramona didn't say anything else before she leaned forward to kiss Scott. He reciprocated of course, but was a little bummed out that she wasn't conversing with him like usual. He was the first to pull away, and he went to sit down on the couch in the living room. Still shivering, he wrapped his arms around himself. He was too nervous to ask for a blanket, and Ramona didn't offer. All she did was toss a random towel at him.
"Dry yourself off."
Scott nodded and wrapped it around his shoulders, his hair had been growing out so he lifted it and put it over the towel so the water wouldn't drip everywhere. It seemed like Ramona noticed how long his hair was getting because she made an admittedly, rude remark.
"You need a haircut, Scott. You look bad with long hair."
"I-Hey... that's a bit mean," Scott mumbled
"Don't shoot the messenger Pilgrim."
Ramona said his name like a slur. A weird type of venom behind it, but he decided to try and move on."I'm gonna go make some tea, you can stay here."
It almost seemed like a command the way Ramona said it. Scott was feeling really uncomfortable now, Ramona used to be so attentive and caring, and he knew she didn't owe him anything, but could it really be that hard to not insult him? But he decided to move on. Like usual. Maybe she was just having a bad day. Well, more like a bad month.
Suddenly Ramona's phone flashed. Scott reached over to grab the phone and hand it to her when he paused at the message."Wanna come over tonight baby? <33 ❤️"
Scott felt ill. There was a sinking feeling in his stomach. He was just imagining it, I mean, surely she wasn't cheating.
Right?
The contact name was a man's name he didn't recognize with a heart next to it. Tears started forming in his eyes when he heard Ramona coming back into the room. Scott quickly got back into his position on the couch and wiped his tears.
"Here."
Ramona quickly shoved a cup of tea toward him, basically forcing it into his hand while she grabbed her phone off the counter. Scott was still trembling, partly from the cold but mostly from holding in his sobs. Once Ramona had left the room Scott quickly pulled out his phone and dialed Wallace's number. Hopefully he'd know what to do.
A/N
I HAD SO MUCH FUN WRITING THIS CHAPTER!!! I have a lot of plans so make sure to watch out for those. Also sorry Ramona is mean in this fic, she needed to be for plot reasons but dw I know she's not actually like that and I promise I'm not trying to demonize her in any way!!! I'm also sorry if the song doesn't match very well!
