Chapter 34

No amount of tugging at the dress made it longer, I was uncomfortable and all sorts of weird, I felt open and naked.
I gave up and just decided to go downstairs, I open the door of the room to find Liam casually leaning against the wall, he's wearing a dark shirt with dark pants, his hair is neatly styled. He eyes me up and down with a frown. "I know we're not the best of buddies right now but you can't be serious about going like that, did the bastard tell you to wear that."

I sigh and nod. "I'm sure it's a decent place-"

Liam snorts. "What did Hammet even say about this?" My heart clenched, I manage a shrug, Liam must have sensed something in my reply, all he did was sigh. "Let's just get this over with."
Elijah was waiting in the living room already, he grins widely when he sees us.

"Darling you look stunning." He says smugly and takes my elbow. "Now come on, we don't want to be late."

He was quickly ushering us out, a car was already waiting for us, his driver opens the door and as I step in. I take a seat next to Elijah, Liam taking the seat on the other side of me. "Tonight's going to be so fun."

Drag racing, that's where we went.
There was music blasting, I could hear cars drifting, I thought I was naked but the girls here were dressed in much less, men were smoking and drinking, grabbing random girls everywhere. I found myself moving closer to Liam.
But Elijah was already grabbing me and tugging me with him.

"What exactly are we doing here?" I ask.

"Meet people, make deals." He briefly replies. He leads to deeper through the people until we find another crowd. "Are you going to hog all the ladies for yourself?" Elijah asks mocking.

The man in the middle quickly looks up with a grin, his gaze turns to me and he smirks. "You seem to have a feisty share there already." I shudder as the two men hug like older brothers. "Fuck dude, I thought you'd be in Venice or Rome now. I didn't expect to see you here."

Elijah shrugs and points to me. "Change of plans, my friend needed me." Elijah tugs me closer, Liam steps right beside me. "Lea-"

"Hammet." The guy finishes with a smirk, he holds out his hand for me to shake. "Or are you going as Davis now that there's no Hammet." Than he raises his hands in defense. "I'm just intrigued."

"Be intrigued with someone else's life." I retort.
Elijah chuckles and drops my hand.

The guy shrugs. "What about him?" He says to Liam.

"Not important right now." Elijah brushes Liam off. "I'm here to see if you have any entries available, and my car as well?"

Mark grins. "I got just the thing for you, let your friends mingle." He grabs from two other people red cups and hands them to the two of us. "Gulp." I grab the cup, my jaw clenching, and throw the drink right back at him, time worms in slow motion as he swears and swings his fist, Liam had grabbed me to pull me back just in time but the fist collides with Liam's face.

Someone grabs my arm and I swing my fist in their direction striking their nose and I catch Liam throwing a punch at Mark, someone was going to hit me as Elijah pulled me away.
"Enough!" He orders loudly and the fight halts.
"I didn't come here to start fights. I came here to make allies." He hisses at us shoving me to Liam, who already had a nasty bruise.

"We settle this like racers than." Mark turns to Liam with rage burning in his face. "You win, no harm will come to this bitch, I win, I keep her." My blood runs cold and I'm already shaking my head, Liam had gone stiff beside me, but Elijah was already shaking hands with the bastard. "See you in a bit."
