After You Left

Chapter 9

The girl that I had seen at the bookshop comes charging at us with a nerf gun, there's black paint stripes on her forehead and cheeks.

Dylan curses before pulling me behind him and the girl whom I'm guessing is Davina starts shooting him, he curses some more and adjusts his body to cover me more eventually turning around to face me.

I look up to find his olive green eyes filled with mischief and happiness.

"Dylan Hamilton, do you have any idea how in trouble you are?" A lady's voice echoes and I hear another nerf gun going off.

"Don't you worry son, I have got your back." Another nerf gun goes off and this time Davina and the lady start screaming.

"For goodness sake people, I brought a guest and you guys are shooting at me." Dylan says over his shoulder, the whole room goes deadly quiet and given the fact that Dylan's chest and mine were touching I am positive he can feel my fast heartbeat.

"What do you mean you brought a guest?" The man says, Dylan mouths a breathe before stepping away from me, all 3 of them gasp.

"Mommy that's the pretty girl from the bookshop." Davina says excitedly.

"The one who punched Dylan." The lady says and covers her mouth to stop her laughter, Davina bursts out laughing and the man whom I'm guessing is the father chuckles before it turns into laughter.

"Oh wow, thank you guys for giving me such a heartwarming welcome." Dylan says, his cheeks flushed with embarrassment, I stare at the whole scene fascinated.

"Can you blame us, you came home with a killer bruise, we finally get to meet the artist who gave you the bruise." The father says, he steps in closer to me before holds his hand out for a shake and I take it. "It's an honor to finally meet you, I'm Rex Hamilton, that's my wife Lily and our daughter Davina and of course Dylan. " He says before stepping away.

"I'm Lea." I say with a small wave.

"She'll be staying with us for a while." Dylan says smiling, Davina starts squealing excitedly.

"You're always welcome here Lea." Mrs. Hamilton says smiling than she turns to Dylan and glares. "And where have you been, today is nerf war day and you're supposed to be here?"

"I had forgotten about it." Dylan says nervously.

"That is no excuse, this is an important event in our house." Mrs. Hamilton says.

"I know mom and I promise it won't happen again." Dylan says smiling. "You guys carry on, I'll just give Lea a tour of the house."

Before anyone can say anything Dylan takes my hand and walks away up the huge staircase.

"Sorry about that, like I said, my family is weird and loud." Dylan says smiling.

"It's fine, I don't mind it." I say with a shrug, we walk in silence.

"You're not going to leave the same way everyone does?" I ask.

"You're my world alright, my universe, I wouldn't survive with you." Damien says with a chuckle that causes me to chuckle too. "We have to go get your dress and than we can roam through the city."

I look and softly join our lips, I feel his smile against my lips as his hand caresses my cheek.
"I love you." I say.
"I love you princess." Damien says with a smile.

"So how was the tour?" Dylan asks and I am pulled back to reality once more, I look at confused and realize that we're in his room, the room I was on the other night.
