As the sun set and the chill set in both of them lapsed into silence as they listened to the sound of the waves crashing against rock. The air around them was cool and prickly but MK was cuddled too close to his boyfriend to feel it, the warmth from the boy glowing on his skin like kisses from the sun.

His heart was warm and MK didn't want to move at all, not even when his legs started going dead from not moving for so long. It looked like Red didn't want to move either because his arm was slung around MK's shoulders, tugging him close and keeping them still.

MK's eyes were closed, drinking in the feeling and the sounds around him that were heightened with his eyes closed and he hummed, tail coiled lazily around his boyfriend's tail as he listened to the waves.

When MK finally did open his eyes again it was pitch black outside, the stars twinkling brightly above them and MK watched the sight happily, enjoying how many more stars he could see here near the ocean than he could in the busy city.

"I should... probably go soon," MK mumbled softly, not bothering to move. There was no urgency in his tone.

"My parents will get worried." He added and Red hummed, sighing softly.

"Who cares about them? Let them worry." He scoffed and MK laughed, turning to stifle his giggle into his lover's chest, his grin wide.

"C'mon Firefly, you know they'll go looking eventually. My Baba will freak if he finds us like this." He snickered, imagining the scene in his head and Red reached a hand up to start fiddling with MK's hair absentmindedly, fingers tangling through the small curls hanging down and framing his face that were usually pushed back by his headband.

Red's hair crackled and popped at the name MK had called him, a pleased look on his face before he remembered what they were talking about and frowned.

"Well I suppose it can't be helped. It is late after all." He huffed and MK nodded, leaning to rest his face against the demon's neck. It smelled like smoke.

"It is. I've had a really good time." He told him again, wanting Red Son to know just how much he'd loved this evening and the boy's hand paused in playing with his hair.

"I did too. I'll make sure the next one is even better." He promised, a challenging note in his tone and MK huffed out a laugh, turning to look up at him with soft eyes.

"Impossible." He breathed out playfully, a childish glint in his eyes that Red seemed to take as a challenge.

"Hardly. You'll see. The next date will be so amazing you'll find it impossible to leave!" He promised and MK's eyes crinkled into moon shapes in his joy, lips tugging into a pleased grin.

"I can't wait."

It was harder than it should have been to actually pull away from his boyfriend and stand up, MK's body missing the close contact immediately and he resisted the urge to cling like a- well a monkey- to the taller boy, letting his hand stay connected with his lover instead.

"I'll see you soon," MK promised, standing opposite the boy with the smooth weight of his bracelet on his wrist. It was a nice feeling, and he looked down at it, admiring the bangle and feeling his heart flutter happily at the sight of it. His boyfriend had made this for him. Had sat down, designed and practiced, and made this for MK as a token of his affection and it made his whole chest warm and wiggly.

"Not too soon." Red chuckled but his eyes were dancing and MK caught the humour in his tone easily.

"I love you." He promised, standing close and the other boy's eyes widened the way they always did when MK said those words, emotions flicking across his face and then softening like wax.
