Hopelessness and uselessness gripped him as he watched Peng disappear into the sky, wings taking them out of reach in seconds and just when MK thought they were going to disappear into a speck on the horizon, never to be seen again until they came back to take MK's other eye unexpectedly, a burst of gold sped past like a bullet.

Only faster, whizzing by more like a rocket and MK's eye managed to catch sight of white cloud and the soft colour of Wukong's fur for just a second before he was too far to see in any detail. Just a smudge on the horizon like Peng was.

The two dots connected, blurring together and MK blinked to let his golden vision swallow his eyes, immediately seeing much more and much further. He watched Wukong catch up with Peng, watched the other notice and try to turn or move only for Wukong's fist to strike them in the chest like a bolder, fast and strong and sending them crashing right back down to the ocean far below with a shockwave that sent a splash rocketing into the sky.

It was amazing, like watching a geyser shoot into the air impressively.

MK looked at the place Peng had been thrown, eyes seeing bubbles and ripples and then glanced up to see Wukong staring down like he was trying to see if he'd just one-shotted the guy, peering over the edge of his cloud.

After a second, a portal opened up behind him, one MK recognised and a hand shoved through, grabbing Wukong by the tail and dragging him through. MK could hear him yelp faintly and then suddenly very loudly, his baba landing on his butt nearby.

MK immediately rushed over to look, spotting Macaque too and feeling relief flood his body.

"Dads!" He chirped, resisting the urge to crush them into a hug, glad they were alright even if Macaque was dripping wet and Wukong's fur was messy and curly and blown dry from his brief windy trip to pummel Peng.

"Take your time, you two!" Nezha hissed loudly as something hot hit the ground nearby, fire spreading across what was left of the grass like poison. MK stamped the little spark near his foot out while Wukong winced and Macaque frowned, letting himself fall backwards and opening a portal behind him right when it looked like he was going to hit the ground.

MK's ears flicked as he listened to the portal open again near Nezha, turning his wide gaze back to the fight and blinking twice to get rid of his golden vision when the pulse in his head reminded him he was still using it.

Macaque rose from Erlang's shadow like a monster, eyes hard as he pulled out his shadow weapon and let it collide with Erlang's the next time he went to strike at Nezha. The celestial, not expecting the interruption, growled at the sight of him, twisting their weapons and Macaque stepped back closer to Nezha.

"Sorry. It's a little hard to find someone at the bottom of the ocean." Macaque grumbled, shooting Wukong a dirty look who shrugged and rushed to join in, using his cloud to jump over Erlang like he was a springboard, hands pressing on his shoulders and tipping him backwards as he vaulted over him.

Erlang staggered but didn't fall, sending a dirty look to Wukong like the sight of him was disgusting.

"And here I had hoped that you'd drowned." He hissed venomously and Wukong shrugged, a cheeky look on his face.

"Nah, as if a little water would hurt me. Besides, I can't drown. You know that, Erlang. Or have you forgotten in your old age? Going senile perhaps?" He teased, taking joy in the way it riled the man up further and the next swipe of Erlang's weapon was predictable but shockingly strong.

All three dodged it, but the arc hit the ground and broke chunks of earth like they were crumbs, flicking them off the side of the mountain and leaving more fire in its wake, taller than the little flickers spreading the other times.
