Love and Hunt

Chapter Seventeen

I was upset. I was unhappy. I tried to keep walking when I still wanted to go to that cabin even though I knew that Luna had taken Jacob away from that cabin. We've been discovered. I wondered how the three of us could have known that we went to the cabin where Jacob was hiding. And it was like in that city garden when Luna suddenly dropped that woman in front of me, and she died. I had failed to kill Jacob, and I knew that the opportunity to live together with Will as a married couple was still away from me. That was my plan. That's the agreement that I would make with my father. The prize that I wanted from killing Jacob would be to get married to Will instead of to the witch that had been chosen by him.

"We'll ask your father for advice," Grace said standing next to the sign of the bus stop with me and Alex.

"I think he will ask Jane to use her black butterflies to search for Jacob," Alex said. "And that's the only way I think."

"He's right, Grace," I said.

"Well, we need to go back to my premises first," Grace said. "Don't you feel hungry?"

"Well, yeah," Alex said.

For this hunt, Alex and Grace had to be off their work at the restaurant. Grace said to the manager that both Alex and she couldn't go to work as both of them got sick.

I was in the dining room, sitting on this dining chair. And three of us had got dinner together. And we're waiting for my father to pick up his phone. When I kept thinking that Luna and the sibling coming to stop three of us happened unintentionally, I kept being distracted by the incident when I met her in that city garden. She dropped that woman from above and killed her. I wondered how she could find me in the city garden if she didn't keep watching me. And I began to believe that she had considered me a dangerous witch for those witches on Jacob's side, so she decided to keep watching. I didn't think that I would talk about that with Alex and Grace as they would know that I went out to that city garden when they were working at the restaurant. Then, Grace's smartphone was ringing. I saw the call coming from my father. She picked up her phone and turned on the speakerphone.

"Hello, Grace." My father said.

"Hello, Mr. Stone." She said. "We're sorry. Mr. Stone. We have to tell you that we failed to kill Jacob. Luna and the sibling knew that we came to that wood to kill Jacob who stayed in that cabin. But we've killed Sam."

"You're just unlucky." He said. "Well, I will ask Jane to send her black butterflies in search of Jacob again. I will text you when her butterflies have found the location."

Then, my father hung up the phone.

"I hope we will get his message tomorrow," Grace said.

"I hope so," Alex said. "And I want to lie down and sleep. But is that ok if we have to take a day off again if my father will send the location tomorrow?"

"I think it's fine," Grace said. "I'll tell him that we're sick for a couple of days."

"Great," Alex said and got out of the dining chair and walked to the sofa for taking rest and sleep.

"Don't get upset, Anna," Grace said. "When we get the location, we won't lose him as we'll make a plan first."

I smiled at her. Then, I saw Grace leaving the dining table and letting me be alone. She just didn't know how important for me to kill Jacob for the kind of life that I wanted instead of being stuck in the life that I didn't want to have.

I laid my head on the arm of the sofa and lay down. I took the TV remote off the table and turned on the television in front of me. I hoped this city stayed safe, and I didn't expect to see the news about the death of those people in this city as it could make me worry that Will would be hunted by those witches. I was shocked by what was shown on the TV channel till I lifted my head off the arm of the sofa. I saw those pieces that came from a house that had been destroyed by a tornado. The news anchor said that the members of the family could save their lives from the tornado that hit and destroyed their house. Then, I saw a reporter standing next to a man who was the householder of the house.
