Chapter Twenty

"The Military Department has given the order to those soldiers for the patrol in the city." The news anchor said. "The investigation on the emergence of the giant creature in the wood at the south of the city is still going on. And this is the statement from the Ministry of Defense,"

Then, I saw the man from the Ministry of Defense deliver a statement about what had happened in this city. I got up from the sofa and made for the window next to me. When I looked down to the road from the window pane, I found those soldiers holding guns. They had been spread over this city. Then, I saw a military truck passing by the road in front of the building of the premises. Looking at those soldiers down there, I didn't think that Jacob would stay in this city for hiding. But I didn't know if he got his plan for those soldiers. I turned around and got on the sofa again, facing the man from the Ministry of Defense on TV.

"We've got the sample from the giant thing, that monster." He said. "We're still focusing on the investigation. And, we protect. We've sent those soldiers to protect those people in this country. And we will find out who has created that chaos."

A blast from my right side hit me so badly, and then I covered my ear with my hand. When I looked at the window pane, it had been shattered by the tornado that was passing by the road, and it was as high as this building. I jumped away from the window as I could feel being pulled by the tornado outside. I was holding onto the foot of the sofa. I tried to grab the floor so tight. And I tried so hard to remain on the floor of the premises. The pull was so strong. But I didn't want to stop holding on. I forced myself stronger enough to keep being stuck inside this premises instead of getting dragged out of this building and killed inside that tornado. Then, the table next to me got dragged by the tornado outside, but it was stopped and got stuck because of the window. When I looked back at the table, it had covered the hole in the window as the glass had been shattered by the tornado. I kept crawling down when the tight hold from the tornado was still going on. I kept trying to reach the door of there. But when I got the half of the way, the table landed on the floor. And I could feel that I had been out of the tight pull from the tornado. When I looked back with this messy breathing and saw the outside, that tornado had been away. I tried to sit on the floor and gradually stood up. When I had been on my feet, I knew what I had to do.

I got out of Grace's premises. I tried to be as fast as possible to get on the ground and be outside as I was sure that Sarah was not far from this building. When I opened the door of the building, I saw two military trucks pushed back by the strong wind on the road in front of me. When I looked in the direction where the strong wind coming from, I found Sarah over there. When those soldiers shot her with their guns, she could protect herself from the tornado from her spell. Then, I found that she could escape and flew high into the air. When I saw how the way she wiped out those soldiers with her spell, they looked like insects to her. I touched the wall of the building with my left hand. I hoped I could catch her with the roots moving underground and inside the walls of the buildings. When my roots were approaching her and about to grab her. She just cut those roots into pieces with her wind blades from her spell. Then, she found me who was standing at the entrance of the building. She released the strong wind from her hand, and it was heading for me. But I could get into this building before it hit me. I saw the small garden outside was destroyed. And some pieces of earth were thrown up in the air. When I was trying to stand on my feet, I heard those noise sounds from those guns and bombs outside. When I had been on my feet, I was hiding behind the wall. When the sounds from those bullets being pushed out of their guns and the explosion of those bombs had gone, I peeked from behind the wall. And I didn't find Sarah out there. She could run away. She was still alive.

"I know you were not seen by those people when you used your spell out there to stop Sarah," Grace said. "What about those roots lying down on the road out there? They must be wondering where those big roots came from?"
