Love and Hunt

Chapter Twenty-Six

I saw Elena releasing her water to attack and take down those werewolves trying to kill four of us and those bigger Cerberuses. Elena kept trying to hit them with her water whip. At the same time, she was holding her son's hand. I bent down and put my hands down on the ground. The barrier was created. And it protected four of us from those harpies and werewolves. And those Cerberuses couldn't be easily beaten down by them. I began to wonder about my parents, Grace, Alex, and those people in the city. But Aaron was there, in that city. And I wasn't sure enough that he could stand alone without the help from other witches when those witches from Jacob's side started killing those people who had lost protection from us.

"Elena, could you take us all to my parents' house?" I said. "I'm worrying about them."

"I know, but Mr. Stone wants us to stop Jacob." She said. "I don't think he will be happy if he sees us all go to his house."

"We need to find where Jacob is hiding," Will said.

"Are you sure we will go and look for him when those witches and werewolves are around?" I said.

"What does it take a long time for Jane to find Jacob?" She said. "I remembered she was commanded by Mr. Stone to find Jacob by her black butterflies."

"So, we stay and fight back?" Will said.

"That's what I know," Elena said.

When I looked up, I found those harpies couldn't break and scratch the barrier that I had created from my spell. Those Cerberuses were still out there, protecting us from those harpies and werewolves.

Staying inside this barrier wouldn't stop the attacks from those werewolves and harpies, I needed to find Jacob and stop the hunt. But I didn't find Pegasus up there when I looked up through this barrier. And those black butterflies from Jane's spell hadn't been seen yet. I wondered if they had found the location where Jacob was hiding. I got up and stood on my feet.

"We can't stop the hunt if we just stay inside this barrier," I said. "We need to find Jacob."

"There is no black butterfly I can find around here," Elena said.

When I looked to the right side, I found two werewolves trying to cut the barrier with their pointed and sharp claws, but that bigger Cerberus could stop them by stabbing them using the pointed and bigger teeth of his three heads. Then those heads of that bigger Cerberus threw those dead werewolves away.

"Look!" Elena said while pointing at those black butterflies flying around the heads of that bigger Cerberus.

Then, I undid the barrier to let those black butterflies fly closer to the four of us. Those black butterflies were coming to four of us who were still standing in front of the house.

"Jacob has been found," I said. Then, I looked at Elena.

"That's ok. I and my son can protect ourselves." Elena said. "You know that he can use his invisible spell at this age. And those bigger Cerberuses are very helpful, Anna. Go with Will. Both of us stay. Just like your father's decision."

Two bigger Cerberuses turned into smaller Cerberuses as they wanted to take me and Will to where Jacob had been hiding. I climbed up on the back of this Cerberus. When I had been on his back, I looked at Will. He could get on the back of that Cerberus. I looked back to Elena who was still holding his son.

"Don't worry, Anna." She said. "You can go. Finish this hunt."

"Go, Cerberus," I said.

I was looking forward to the open land where this Cerberus had been running over it. I looked up; those black butterflies kept leading me and Will who had been on the Cerberuses to the place where Jacob had been hiding. I kept holding on to this Cerberus when he sped his pace to follow those butterflies up there. But he stopped running and got blocked by the woman in front of him.
