You had said goodbye to the soldiers you were sitting with as you finished your dinner. They were a friendly bunch, which was a nice reprieve from the anxiety you felt about the expedition tomorrow. They were younger too, so they weren't as hardened as everyone else, and didn't wear their seriousness like some suit of armor.

By now, the dining hall was mostly empty, save for a few quiet soldiers still lingering near the fireplace, savoring an ale. You stood, pushing your chair in behind you, and gathered your dishes to return to the kitchen staff.

The corridors were dimly lit by flickering oil lamps, dotted with windows every once in a while. Outside, you could hear the sounds of soldiers loading wagons for tomorrow, finishing up their final checks. There was the occasional barking dog as well as laughter from various patrols switching off their shifts.

You took your time heading toward your dormitory. The door creaked softly as you pushed it open and stepped inside, fingers brushing the lock behind you as habit. You immediately lit the candle sitting atop your bedside table, filling the room with just enough light to see. The moon was now shining brightly over the Walls, and you gladly sat there, soaking in her light.

You reached for your sleepwear, deciding it was time to get rest, but a soft knock at the door froze your hand mid-air.

You frowned. It was late.

"Hello?" you called cautiously, stepping toward the door.

When you opened it, you were greeted by Levi, his arms crossed.

"Oh. Hey," you were surprised. "Something wrong?"

He gave a small tilt of his head, then nodded towards the hall. "Get your jacket and come with me." He turned without waiting for a reply.

"Wait, what?" you called after him, quickly grabbing your coat and pulling the door shut behind you. "You can't just show up and bark orders like that with no context."

"Actually, I can."

Asshole. You caught up to him, matching his pace. "Where are we going?"

He didn't slow down. "Top of the Wall."

"At this hour?"

"You asked," he shrugged.

"Okay, but why?"

"I figured it's only fair," he said flatly. "You bought me tea. I'll return the favor. Just don't expect anything fancy."

You shot him a sidelong glance. "Oh I see now. This is how you woo women. Is this what you do for all of them? Drag us out of bed for tea and a view?"
