You soared through the air, the feeling of your ODM gear was a feeling you didn't expect you'd miss so much.
Levi explained the current plan as you made your way to the walls, his voice carrying over the wind as he flew beside you. "I'm sure Hange told you, but Rod Reiss has turned into a giant abnormal titan," he shouted, trying to brief you on the situation. "He's already right upon Orvud. If we don't stop him, he'll annihilate the city in minutes."
You nodded, listening to the details Levi provided, but deep down, your heart pounded with fright. Everyone kept mentioning his size--just how big is this titan? "How are we supposed to stop something that big?" You called out in response
"That's what we're trying to figure out," Levi replied, "Erwin's ordered an evacuation drill in Orvud. Officially, it's a drill to prepare the city for a possible Titan attack. Unofficially, it's to get as many people out as possible before Rod Reiss arrives. It keeps the civilians calm, and we can minimize casualties if things go south."
You peered down below at the steady stream of civilians that were making their way to the opposite side of the city. Ahead, you could already see the massive steam cloud billowing from what you assumed to be Rod Reiss. Luckily, the citizens hadn't caught onto what was really happening, but you saw a few stray people turning their heads in concern at the sight.
"It's our job to make sure Rod Reiss doesn't reach the city. If we can defeat him, Historia will be appointed Queen right after and you'll be pardoned. That's why this mission is so urgent. If we fail, it's not just the city that's at risk, it's the future of the entire kingdom." Levi finished as you finally landed on the walls with the rest of Squad Levi.
The wind had finally stopped whirring past your ears, allowing you to speak to Levi in a normal voice, "Understood." You nodded, following him down the wall to where the rest of the military was standing. Canons boomed as you got closer, your heart racing as Rod Reiss came into view.
The 'giant' size of Rod Reiss was an understatement. He loomed over the landscape, nearly the size of half the city itself. Steam clouds billowed behind him, rising into the sky. The sheer enormity of the titan made you stop in your tracks, your blood running cold. How in hell were you supposed to win against that.
Gaping craters marred his skin, the result of the cannon fire that had barely managed to make a dent in his monstrous flesh. He lay there, face down in the ground, as a barrage of more cannon shots poured down on him, but they didn't nothing to further your victory.
