Fiance...Fiance???

She's HIS Fiance???

Omg!!!When did that happen?

Shankar Nayak is her fiance???

Everybody started chattering about the statement I had announced leaving Linda and her son Arthur shocked but the lady whom I claimed to be my fiance stood there wide eyed, speechless and frozen. Her eyeballs grew bigger and she practically didn't blink for a few seconds.

Not that I wasn't shocked about my own announcement but then I couldn't see tears in her eyes. Those brown eyes had an unsaid pain in them every time they rivered those tears. Those eyes had anger and helplessness. Something which once I saw in my mother's eyes. I didn't know what her story was but whatever it was...she didn't deserve that hidden pain and I just barked out whatever came into my mind.

My eyes again met her big widened eyes that were glistening with already shed tears however now had a mix of confusion and shock in them...Kind of making her look....

I immediately looked elsewhere withdrawing the eye lock clearing my throat when suddenly Dr.Vishal said

'This...this is not possible!!! This is a lie! Arthur told us that she...she was...she was mar...married and she....she...how can she....I mean...Mr Nayak is a rich businessman!!! There's no chance that she could be with him!!!'

What??? She's??? She's married???
I didn't know how to cover that up when Linda suddenly said

'Anamika wasn't legally married to that excuse of a husband she had. Neither was her marriage registered, nor was he ever single. So legally she is still single and she stays at my place and....and....Anamika met Mr.Nayak because she was looking for a job!!!'

I gulped. Wow!!! That was a lot of information but good cover up Linda!!! I looked at her and she closed her eyes trying to convince me that 'She got my back!!!' and I cleared my throat and continued weaving my story...

'Yyyyyesss!!! And that's how I met her and we gelled with each other. She is a fantastic secretary' I said when Dr.Martin interrupted saying

'But she works here as a receptionist!!! How can she be your secretary? She can't work two jobs!!! That's against the policies of the hospital!!!'

Freak!!! How did I forget she works here as well!!! Why can't I lie like Neil!!! He's so smooth and I'm a mess!!! Fuck!!!

When suddenly Arthur jumped in saying 'Anamika is on a probation here Dr.Martin and her contract clearly says she's as much as a contract to hire employee, giving her complete authority to look out for a job and above all... she's doing a double shift. From morning to evening she's a receptionist here and post that she works as Mr.Nayak's secretary.'

When I looked at Arthur who winked at me and I was impressed with his ways of handling the situation.

Damn!!! He's good!!!

When Dr.Vishal said 'Hahaha what a joke!!! Who needs a secretary post office hours and what kind of a job is that which begins post the sun sets!!!' he said with a dirty smirk when I took a step closer to him and looked deep into his eyes. I was already gritting my teeth and fisting my palms as I said

'That shouldn't be absolutely of anybody's business!!! Especially not yours Dr.Vishal!!! I am not an employee at a hospital who treats people for their broken bones...I'm a businessman!!! I run a business that runs across continents and runs 24/7. I don't think you are my boss that I give you any details about it!!! Are you Dr Vishal???' I asked him and he gulped shaking his head and I took another step closer to him and whispered in his ears dangerously
