I rushed into the hospital corridor and found a lady at the reception who was busy talking to someone when I barged in asking her

'Mrs Anamika Shankar Nayak...She was in labour... she's just been brought here a few minutes ago!' I verbally vomited as my heart was beating really hard and she said

'Relax Mister Nayak...Dr Kevin had informed me about you...You just have to go to the 2nd floor, left and second right. That's the Maternity OT. Your wife has been taken there.' and I didn't wait another second. I didn't even wait for the elevator and took the stairs. In no time I stood in front of the maternity ward as I saw Linda kept hugging Richard a , Fiza and Dustin kept consoling Miranda who was in tears as Arthur tried to make her drink some water.

Everything looked so messed up. My eyes kept searching for Kevin and I saw him talking to some doctors when my eyes fell on Simi. She looked at me angrily and before I could utter a word I was rewarded with a tight slap on my left cheek almost shaking my jaws.

Before I could say anything she shouted
'Where the fuck were you? What is wrong with you? Don't you pick your phone when your wife is heavily pregnant and close to her due date? What is inside this big skull of yours? Dog poo?' she shouted and just when I was trying to explain her Kevin yelled

'Fuckkkk Finally!!! Your wife is screaming and yelling inside the OT. Get in man...Nowwww!!!' saying Kevin dragged me via my hands when I asked him 'And you?'

'I am a pediatrician not a Gynaec!!! Get in!!! Your wife literally hasn't let anyone in and has been asking only for you!!! Go Shanky!!!' saying he pushed me in as he helped me with a scrub suit, head cap and a mask while I could hear Anika crying in pain. I couldn't wait any longer as I saw her lying there sweaty, legs open, shouting in pain while the nurses and the doctor were encouraging her to push.

..aaaaar!!!' she kept screaming when I immediately went and held her hand and she opened her eyes to see me as she had tears oozing out of her eyes.

When the doctor asked 'Thank God Mister Nayak you are here...I've never seen someone so adamant and angry for not having her husband nearby. She didn't let us bring her here. She only kept crying asking for you and adamant to not proceed without you. But we forcefully brought her here .. she's halfway already!!!' and I looked at her while she kept squeezing my hand and kept crying

'Shan....ahhhhh...It's ahhhhh...I can't do this Shankar...I think...I think I'll die!!!' she said as she started closing her eyes when the doctor said

'Anamika!!! You are brave...You can do this...See we can already see the head...come on...you are strong!!! Mister Nayak...' saying the doctor looked at me asking me to prompt her when I slowly bent down to kiss her forehead and her nails dug into the skin of my hands as she cried in pain when I caressed her cheek saying

I'm sorry for getting angry with you...you know na I'm a fool...my berry...my cherry...My love...come on...this is not the time when you give up!!! Come on...you can do this my cupcake!!!' saying I encouraged her to push when she closed her eyes and shouted

'Shankarrrrr I'm going to deliver a baby...I'm already in pain... atleast now... for heaven's sake...now gimme a good nick....ahhhhhhh name....Rabbbjiiiii' she cried and almost scratched my wrist angrily when I tried to press her forehead as I kissed it saying

'I am sorry my love...I'm sorry...Ok now...shhhh...no getting hyper...breath in...breath out...just push...come on...you can do it...just...push it out like... like....like you push out a poop...Come on!!!' I said only for her to literally slap me hard that I almost fell on the floor.
