2024 and I'm still writing this omfg
Katsuki was enjoying his vacation so far. He spent more time with his childhood friends than his class but it was a nice feeling to mingle both his childhood friends and his current ones together. Especially since they all got along well.
That being said, he had decided to go explore the woods around the resort. Todoroki had came with him; the teen wasn't too bad once he got over how sarcastic and petty the boy was.
Midoriya ended up tagging along. Not an unwelcomed presence but... not quite welcomed either.
By the time they were pretty far in, the teen was already annoying him.
"Shut up! You're so annoying. Can't you just go find someone else to bother. Why're you like this? So fucking annoying"
"Then ignore me!" Midoriya snapped. Todoroki quietly snorted, enjoying the argument obviously.
"Hard to do when you're fucking mumbling in my ear like a mosquito. You're always like this"
"Kacchan! You're the one that's always like this! You never cared!"
"Of course I cared! I always have! If I didn't do anything, that jerk in class C would've killed you! If I didn't care, why the fuck do you think I stayed!"
"You told me to kill myself!" Midoriya screamed, voice portraying his pent up pain.
I know! I fucking know! I- I didn't know what I was saying!" Katsuki finally lost the battle and his stinging eyes resolved into throwing tears down his cheeks. His voice betrayed him, sobs racking through his body. Katsuki pulled at his hair. "I shouldn't have said it!"
He flinched when arms wrapped around him. "Kacchan..."
"I'm sorry! I'm so sorry"
"It's okay"
"It's not!" Katsuki jerked, throwing himself apart from the other. "It's not okay! You could've- You could've jumped!"
"But he didn't. He's going to be a hero" Todoroki chimed in.
Katsuki couldn't find the words to retort, simply covering his face as he cried. Midoriya moved closer again and this time, Katsuki didn't push the gentle touch away.
"I forgave you a long time ago" The freckled boy said to him. Katsuki shook his head, breaths hitching.
"To be fair," Todoroki suddenly said, deep in thought. "He probably didn't know what he was really saying. I was still iffy about those things at my age thanks to my father"
The hand on his arm released as Midoriya took a step back. Katsuki watched as the boy pieced things together.
"Kacchan, you- Were you-"
"Thank you half'n'half. Way to keep it quiet"
"Kacchan! Who would do that?"
He laughed, surprising both of them. "Who wouldn't? Villains need it"
"You're not a-"
"You're going to be a hero, not a villain" Todoroki cut in.
"You're gonna be a hero" Midoriya repeated with a determined look.
Katsuki shrugged, too emotionally drained to put anymore thoughts into this interaction. He took a few deep breaths before wiping at his face with the edge of his shirt.
"I'm goin' back, do what you want. Keep your mouth shut about this, Deku"
"But..."
Katsuki didn't hear anything further, but as he walked away, he heard Todoroki saying something to Midoriya.
"Purote!"
A hug froze him I'm place. It was her... Boss's niece. "...Kanna?"
"Uncle had some stuff to do so he dropped me off. Your teachers said it was fine for today"
She burrowed further into his hold as he reciprocated the hug. "Is he here?"
Kanna shook her head, "No, he'll be here tonight to pick me up"
Katsuki made a low noise of acknowledgement. Kanna pulled back with a bright grin. "I heard you got yourself a boyfriend. I wanna meet 'im"
"Fine" He sighed. "Let's go find him"
Before they continued to go find Kaminari, the girl wiped at his face with her sleeve.
"You gotta take care of yourself, Purote"
"Yeah, sure"
