"Four months ago I started writing a song..."
Jisung immediately thought that it was right when he left the band.
"It's finished now and it means a lot to me so I would love to show it to you. My members," he looked at them and smiled, "weren't aware of it but I'm sure their professional skills could catch up with the new song."
Then three workers ran up on stage and towards the members to give them music sheets with notes and a smaller paper with lyrics. Though it said that they wouldn't be singing. Jisung felt relieved. He knew he could play it but he wasn't sure about playing and singing a new song he's never heard before.
Jisung heard Minho speak to Memories in the background to give his members time to get to know the music sheets. What he noticed was that his paper corners were bent and rolled a bit. The same way Minho fidgeted with them backstage. And while checking the music sheet Jisung glanced at the lyrics as well and felt his breath hitch when he recognized some of them.
"Let's start, shall we?!" Minho shouted excitedly and gave a nod for the members to begin. At first Jisung looked at the music sheet, very focused, not wanting to make a mistake and ruin the song. But after half of the song he got the hang of it and looked up just to see that Minho was looking at him. Then he looked away right after.
Every few seconds he felt Minho glance at him but Jisung tried to ignore it. But no matter how much he tried, he couldn't because the lyrics reminded him of them both and even if he wasn't looking at Minho, he could still see him in his head. So, he gave up and looked at him singing the last chorus.
"I could make you mad, I could make you scream."
Jisung remembered how he screamed out of anger at him 4 months ago. He wondered if that's what the song was about. But it can't be, he thought.
"I could make you cry, I could make you leave. I could make you hate me for everything." Emotions were flowing all around him, giving his best into the song he wrote.
And then Minho completely turned to face Jisung, making it clear for everyone that the glances he stole weren't accidental. They looked at each other, Jisung played the chords as if he knew them by heart, their hearts beating to the rhythm and Minho parted his lips to sing the last line, "But I can't make you come back to me!"
Jisung could barely remember what happened next. Everything felt blurry. Rushed yet slow. He knows they said their goodbyes, bowed and went off stage but the only thing he remembers the best was Minho's eyes. They held such emotions...he couldn't describe them. But he felt them. And he didn't know what to do with them.
"The media is going crazy about the song, Minho! That was so awesome!" Jeongin cheered while scrolling on his phone through the fan posts about their concert.
The band and a few staff members were at a bar, celebrating the first concert of the tour. A successful concert as posts about it were coming one after another. The trending hashtags were all about Minho's sudden surprise song. And a lot of speculation on what the song is about.
Minho simply smiled and sipped on his drink. Jisung watched him and wondered what he was thinking at the moment. He was so quiet. Jisung wanted to know why he looked at him the way he did when he sang the song. He was hoping Minho would talk about it when they got to the bar but he doesn't look like he'll be speaking about it at all.
"You guys, I'm depriving you from snacks for 24 hours. I was getting attacked by you all throughout the whole concert!" Chan whined and pinched the closest person near him, which happened to be Jeongin.
The youngest yelped and soothed his pinched arm. "Don't pinch me. I was attacked too! I had water dumped on me twice and also fell on my butt because of it! I'm a victim too here!"
