Chan has always been observant. When he was a child, teenager and now an adult. He easily noticed small details but ever since 3 months ago his skill started lacking. He couldn't figure out what happened between his two bandmates that night, which caused Jisung to leave the band so suddenly. Minho never talks about it.
He was sure both of their silence meant they disliked or perhaps even hated each other. But the sight he saw when Minho walked inside the music studio was telling a different story. The calm brownhead held a strawberry cupcake and a cup of coffee.
The dots stopped adding up. Especially when Jisung stepped inside as well, holding an unusual cup of coffee. That man would rather jump off a cliff then change his coffee order.
Chan figured it's not exactly his place to jump inside their private life so he let it go.
"What coffee is that, Ji?" he asked casually and watched him place his bag on one of the black metal boxes filled with wires.
Jisung took a good look at his coffee as if the name was written on it, which it wasn't.
"I don't know." He shrugged and looked at Chan. "I was pressured by some grumpy old lady behind me to pick faster. I ordered the first thing that caught my eye." Jisung smiled at Jeongin when he laughed.
Everyone went to their places and the practice began. Music filled the soundproof room and every single one of them let their problems temporarily go away.
They got so into it that they didn't realize it's already been over an hour.
"How about a 10 minute break, guys? Cause, I'm hella thirsty," said Jeongin who was accompanying Minho in some of their songs as a lead vocalist.
The band members all turned to Chan, waiting for his opinion on it. He placed down his drumsticks. "I'm actually quite hungry as well."
Jeongin jumped up in victory but tripped over a wire in the process. Minho caught him in time. The youngest laughed out loud at his clumsiness and voiced a quick 'thank you' towards the older.
While they were waiting for the food delivery, Jisung walked up to Chan who was effortlessly playing the drums to pass time.
"Chan," he called. The oldest took out his sound canceling earbuds and looked at him with a warm smile he usually wore.
"Yeah? Need anything?"
Jisung didn't reply. Instead he took out an envelope from his hoodie pocket and played with its slightly bent corners.
"I wasn't going to show you this...but I really have no other choice..." Jisung quietly spoke and placed the envelope in Chan's hand. The leader examined that white paper with a bunch of dark red stamps on top of each other. It was impossible to read them.
He lifted his head to check Jisung's expression but the younger only motioned to open the envelope. Chan shifted in his chair and read through the letter quickly, not wanting to have Jisung waiting. His eyes immediately landed on a money sign, the sum and then it clicked. Explains the aggressive looking red stamps.
Chan softly hummed and nodded to himself as he folded the letter back to its place, placing it on the surface of his drum plate. "You know, Jeongin has been asking me to tell you something," Chan said and watched the younger's stiff yet curious figure.
"Tell me what?"
"He's feeling quite lonely in his room and he would love to have a roommate. Maybe you know someone for the job?" Jisung's lips twitched into a smile.
"Hah, maybe I do." Jisung stared at the floor and shifted his foot to not step on a wire. "But what about the rent? I...it sucks to say this but I...am broke." Jisung released a sigh, his shoulders dramatically going down.
