A/N: Im sorry if this was a little rushed, but I hope you enjoy the conclusion to Just A Sidekick!

Laughter echoed through the cottage.
“Nope. I’m not having it today! Just no! I don’t care if you wanna kidnap Alyssa, stop freaking us out, you insensitive little-“ I won’t narrate what I had said then, since it was a little inappropriate. Even my best friend was shocked, and slapped me gently.
The laughter stopped though. “You insolent child! You know nothing of the forces at hand! Alyssa Chenit must come with us willingly, or we will have to force her. It is entirely her choice.”
“What will you do?” Alyssa asked shakily. “If I refuse both options?”
“With your powers, you are most likely to be a hero, Chenit,” The creepy voice said. “And a hero’s fatal flaw?  It’s that they would do everything for their friends.”
Immediately, I started feeling drowsy. "What in the world?” I murmured, collapsing to my knees. Suddenly, pain started to creep through my body.
“Well dang, that hurts-“ I muttered, trying to focus on anything else. “The pain  isn’t real, the pain isn’t real,” I told myself, and sure thing. The pain disappeared. My eyes widened. I knew what this coward who was hiding from us had as a power, but it was only a legend. And surely, that meant that I was crazy.
But many things were getting crazy, starting with the fact that someone wanted to kidnap my best friend.
“Alyssa! I know what power this mystery person who’s hiding has!”
“I am not hiding!” The voice cried indignantly.
“He’s an illusionist!” I continued, ignoring him.
Alyssa’s jaw dropped. “You’re Anuthisban, aren’t you?” She demanded.
Meanwhile, I asked myself two things. One. Who the hell was Anuthisban? Two. Who the hell would name their child Anuthisban?
How was that even legal? I assumed this person was evil, and I didn’t blame him.
If I was named Anuthisban, I would be evil too.
“I don’t know how you know who I am,” The voice sounded shocked, and livid.
“But one, you just ruined my mysterious aura. And two, you’ve delayed long enough. It’s time to take you back to the base.”
“You mean the evil base? Right, because if you just gave me the address, I could make a call, and tell everyone-“ Alyssa slumped, her sentence being interrupted.
“Hey! Unnecessary!”” I said angrily, until I felt a sharp pain in my neck. It was a dart.
“Very, very unnecessary .” I said again, before I, like Alyssa, passed out.
When I woke up, I was in a glass cage. I heard Alyssa’s screams, and to this day, I still don’t know what they wanted from her. I did know, however, that I had to get out and find her. I clenched my hand into a fist and punched as hard as I could, over and over. The glass started to break, and my fists began to bleed, but I kept on going. Finally it shattered, drops of blood splattering everywhere. I ran towards the sounds of shouts, and saw Alyssa gasping on the floor.
“Don’t!” She yelled as I was about to step into the room. “You remember when I told you the legend of Anuthisban, the wicked illusionist who wanted to ‘make the world a better place’ by removing the ‘weak’, which was to him, the people with lower tier powers?”
I nodded, as I vaguely started to remember.
“But it can’t be him! That was hundreds of years ago!” I said as what Alyssa was trying to say sunk into my head.
“Yeah, well, he’s here!” My best friend’s eyes widened. “Run! Amanda! Run right now!”
“Wh-“ I began to ask, confused, until I felt a sharp pain in my side. I looked, and found a knife sticking into my body.
I was going to die.
All I knew then was I wouldn’t die without helping Alyssa. I grabbed the knife, and stabbed Anuthisban, who was behind me.
“You have to stop him,” I gasp.
“I can’t do it without you! You can’t die!” Alyssa’s eyes started to brim with tears. I told her she had to.
“Goodbye Alyssa. Tell my family I love them.” Those were the last words I said as all faded to black.
Oh, but the story doesn’t end there. Alyssa does some main character things, and I survive, being taken to the doctor just in time.
Long story short, Alyssa saved lots of low tier people. And even though I helped her, I didn’t get anything.
I still don’t really know what happened, since we all agreed to never mention it ever again, and just lead normal lives.
However, there was one thing that happened. I got another power. Super-strength. I unlocked it while punching that glass.
Anyways, that’s all.
You want me to end it officially? Alright.
And we lived happily ever after.
