"this is not good." dahlia sighed as the dutch grand prix ended, pulling of her headphones and dropping them on the table.

"yeah, if i was you, i'd stay well clear of lando for weeks, especially if george is around." mick said quietly to dahlia, taking the headphones off.

the race had been chaos to say the least, with multiple showers of rain and a bad strategy from mercedes left both drivers out far too long on the soft tyres. george had been going good until him and lando made contact, causing russell to finish last if you don't count the cars that had a dnf.

"oh my god." dahlia groaned, dropping her head into her arms that were folded on the table. mick patted the girl's back in hopes to make her feel better as toto stormed off away from the desk.

"how mad do you think he'll be?" dahlia looked to mick, referring to her brother.

"about the race? mad. about the other thing? he might murder you two." mick said, causing dahlia to drop her head back down again.

george walked into the garage, his race engineer patting him on the back as they walked quickly through the garage towards the drivers room. george walked passed his sister and the reserve driver, remaining silent with his helmet on.

mick looked to the girl with sympathetic eyes as she let out a small whimper that sounded like she was about to burst into tears.

a few minutes later, dahlia knocked on her brothers door, waiting till he told her to come in before entering.

"hey..." she smiled awkwardly at the boy as he drank from his bottle. he sat on his bed in the small room. "you okay?"

"yeah." george said, sounding deflated. "just annoyed because we had such a good car this weekend, we should be out there on the podium now."

"i know." dahlia said, sitting down next to her brother. "but there will be other weekends."

"i basically came last dee." george said, turning his head to look at her with a straight face.

"sorry." dahlia sighed apologetically. she looked down, swinging her feet as they hung off the she of the bed.

"if lando didn't drive into me-"

"-okay, hey, it's not his fault." dahlia found herself defending the boy before she could stop herself. george raised a brow at his sister. "not entirely his fault..." dahlia said quietly.
