The beginning   ☾𖤓

Colette Russo, grabs her black ribbon finishing off her outfit for the day, about to walk down the street of the busy town known as Manhattan with her closest friend and her only friend, Mavis. The two searching for a place to settle for some drinks and a catch up on each others lives. Mavis and Colette live a few hours away from each other so catching up isn't something they do very often, so they value the time that they spend when Mavis comes to visit. Mavis has been friends with Colette since the two were in diapers, they used to be neighbor's and there mothers were very close, that was until Colette married a man named Dean and moved to Manhattan. Colette is quiet and reserved, and her only friend is Mavis, so when Mavis isn't in town, she walks the streets alone. Dean works a 9-5 job as a lawyer, so Colette barely sees him but he does makes a lot of money and supports her and her family. That was probably the real reason why she is still with Dean. She hates admitting the truth but she is only with Dean for 2 reasons. Reason 1 being, her father having stage 4 cancer. Dean gladly pays for all Colette's father's medical bills. Reason 2 being, her and dean have been together since she was 19, she remembers the way Dean used to treat her, and she hopes one day he will treat her the way he used to. Now-days Dean is always annoyed by Colette's company, the two speak 1 conversation a week at the most.

"I hear some music in here wanna pop our heads inside, see if there's any room for us to sit for a drink?" Mavis suggests. Colette simply nods her head as Mavis leads the way. "Hello! welcome, bar or booth seating today?" a friendly man asks the two young girls. "Bar if possible thanks!" "certainly."

Colette and Mavis sit down at the crowded bar, Colette orders a simple beer, craving a drink before she rants to Mavis all about how Dean has been. The two speak loudly to try and hear each other, as the people in the bar start clapping. They move there sits closer, making it easier to hear. "Why is everybody clapping?" Colette almost yells. Before Mavis could answer a man speaks into the microphone, "Hello everybody." The clapping continues for a few more seconds. Colette stared at the man ahead, he was wearing a white singlet and some pair of jeans, nothing fancy, he had short brown hair and dark brown eyes. there was only one word that came to her mind and that was 'wow'. Colette had never seen such a man. He looked like the 'dream' man Colette would have dreams about, a man who actually showed interest in her. He had such a warm aurora. There was something about him Colette couldn't tell what it was but there was something about the man standing ahead that made her heart swell, something she wasn't used too. He spoke a few words before singing a song she had never heard.

"Looking out the door
I see the rain fall upon the funeral mourners
Parading in a wake of sad relations
As their shoes fill up with water"

Something about Colette was she loved to write her emotions and thoughts into poems, something about his lyrics screamed he liked to do the same.

"So I'll wait for you and I'll burn
Will I ever see your sweet return
Oh, will I ever learn?
Oh oh oh, lover, you should've come over
'Cause it's not too late"

Something about the lyrics he was singing in the song stuck to her mind like glue.

"It's never over
My kingdom for a kiss upon her shoulder
Yeah, it's never over, all my riches for her smiles
When I slept so soft against her
It's never over
All my blood for the sweetness of her laughter
It's never over
She is a tear that hangs inside my soul forever"

The mysterious man sung the lyrics and suddenly locked eyes with Colette for a few seconds but to Colette it felt like days.

"Love, love, love, love, love
Lover, you should've come over
If it's not too late"
