It was the next day, the day of Colette's father's funeral. Colette woke up unintentionally early, around 4:30am and couldn't get back to sleep, she was feeling a whirlwind of emotions that she couldn't explain. She still could not believe the man that raised her was really gone.
Jeff wore a black long sleeve shirt but rolled it up a few times so it feel before his elbows, jeans, aswell as a backpack, containing his things aswell as Colette's belongings. Colette wore a black skirt and purple top with black tights underneath.
The two sat outside the apartment complex in silence waiting for Mavis to arrive, sharing a cigarette. When Mavis arrived she was happy to see Colette leaning into Jeff, she was glad the two stayed in contact, she knew he was good for her. The two stood up and Mavis got out the car and speed walked to hug her best friend. Mavis knew she barely spoke to her family since Colette's brother died. Mavis and Jeff spoke a few words before they entered the car. Colette sat in the front with Mavis and Jeff in the back seat.
When they arrived at the funeral service Colette was filled sadness. Jeff realized they had arrived and shut his journal that he had been writing and scribbling away in almost the whole trip and when he wasn't doing such, he would be checking on Colette, making sure she was okay. Jeff wrote in his journal everyday, he wrote everything in there, from lyrics to thoughts. Jeff got out the car and opened Colette's door for her grabbing her hand gently. She was breathing fast and biting her black, painted nails. "Are you okay Colette?" Jeff asked quietly as Mavis tied her shoe lace. "Oh god Jeff, I don't think I can do this." Colette said sharply taking a quick step back closer to the car. "Hey, hey, it's okay, I'm here with you. Whatever you want to do, I'll be there with you." Jeff said tucking her hair behind her ear, trying his best to calm her nerves. She took a few deep breathes as Mavis came over to the overthinking girl. "I'm here for you too C, you have us. We are here for your father, not anybody else who wants to cause any shit." Mavis said rubbing her friend's arm. So, Colette shut her eyes and took one final big breath. "Okay... lets go" the girl said before grabbing Jeff's hand. The boy smiled gently and walked next to the girl, following Mavis into the ceremony. They sat in the third row, yet to engage with her family. Throughout the service Colette broke down a few times, but held herself together enough to not make a scene, with the help of her two friends by her side. When the ceremony finally ended Colette wiped her tears one more time before standing up and moving into the celebration room for cake and tea. Jeff, Colette and Mavis walked in the room and found an area in the room. Jeff left the two girls to go and retrieve cake and a tea for the broken girl. When he arrived back Colette thanked him and held her tea close to her, the feeling of the warmth from the cup comforting, as she leaned her head on Jeff's shoulder. "Colette" a unknown voice made the three friends spin around. Colette and Mavis where in shock to see her mother and Dean standing next to each other. "What is Dean doing here mother?!" Colette asks lifting her head up from Jeff shoulder feeling mad. 'How dare he' Colette thought to herself. Jeff sniffs up and the word Dean. "Hello to you to Colette. I thought you two should make-up since your little mis-hap." Colette's mother look's at her confused before scanning Jeff. "No. We broke up after he cheated on me and slapped my face. This is not happening right now" Colette sighed furious at the sight of him and looked down at the ground. "That is ridiculous. This is all a misunderstanding" she turned to Dean and smiled. Meanwhile, Dean had never taken her eyes of Colette, while Jeff had never taken his eyes of Dean. "You ass hole!" Colette raises her voice at Dean. "leave now, or I'll make you" She states, now yelling. "Colette don't make a scene you silly child! Act like a lady!" Colette's mother says grabbing her wrist tightly. "Your just like that silly brother of yours that got himself killed" she looked down rubbing her temple in frustration. Colette took a step back offended with the words that came out her mother's mouth, she yanked her wrist out of her mother's grasp. "I see SHE has already moved on" Dean said taking a step towards Jeff, scanning him up and down, like he was ready to fight. The girl quickly stepped in pushing Dean back harshly. "Keep him out of it. He is my friend, Jeff." Colette says looking to Dean with flames in her eyes. "This is insane. Mother I can't believe you said that about Tyler, your own son. I have no words, and as for you Dean, I hope I never see your sorry ass ever again... We're leaving come on Mavis!" Colette calls out to the girl who had left to the bathroom, she quickly looks at Dean and pushes him slightly, all the love she once had gone. She grabbed Jeff's hand. Jeff looked back to Dean as Colette was dragging him outside, and smirked at his lover's ex fiancé. Dean obviously noticed the smirk and jealously ran through his body and his hands balled into a fist as he watched the two leave hand in hand.
Colette got in the car and screamed shortly but loudly. "I hate him so much. Why would he do that?!" Colette said loudly. "He is a dick. He had the audacity to do that at your fathers funeral, boy I could kill that cunt" Mavis explained to the girl also furious. "It's over now" Jeff whispered to Colette, trying to get her to calm down, he placed his hand on her leg softly, smiling at the girl, trying to act calm for the girl. In reality he was mad that Dean had done that to her. He did that to his girl.
