"Emperor Zixin," General Wong quickly bowed before continuing. "The mission to ambush Siwang was...partially successful. Five members of Siwang were killed, one captured and two others fled. My soldiers are currently tracking down the two that escaped. The one we captured went through rigorous interrogation and is currently unconscious." the emperor stayed silent, nodding, making his headdress jingle.
"Very well. Thank you, General Rong. You are dismissed." Rong bowed low and quickly left, taking to his abode. Rong passed the water gardens, noticing the princess and her lady-in-waiting. Her lady-in-waiting was smiling, as was the princess. The princess looked at peace, unlike the other times he had seen her, all tense and stern. He watched her laugh and smile with her lady-in-waiting for a while before leaving.
Caihong took Dongmei's empty porcelain cup and lifted the princess to her feet, bringing her back to her room. "I enjoyed that immensely, Caihong-jie. Thank you, again." Caihong laughed and bowed her head.
"Of course, Dongmei-da jie. It was my pleasure." Caihong undid Dongmei's hair, brushing it out with long strokes. Putting Dongmei's long, white hair back up, Caihong got up, bowed, and left the building. Dongmei sat there, fingering her jade hetian.
"Dongmei-da jie, the general wishes to speak with you." Caihong ran in, bowing hastily. "He wants to fight with you." Dongmei perked up but then slouched.
"I'm blind! How am I supposed to know where he is? Or when he strikes? Or where I am?" Dongmei clenched her hand around her hetian. "I'M BLIND!" Caihong flinched, never hearing Dongmei ever raise her voice like that.
Caihong kneeled next to Dongmei, laughing to herself. "Dongmei-da jie, I've seen you fight. You're really good."
"How does that have to do with anything about my blin-"
"I didn't finish." Caihong interrupted Dongmei, "And your hearing is more than exceptional. If you can hear the swish of a fish's tail, you can hear the sand moving underneath the General's foot, or the swish of the jian through the air. Try. He won't hurt you."
Dongmei sighs, "Right...won't hurt me. More like I'll hurt myself..." Dongmei held her hand out so that Caihong could lead her to the fighting arena.
"Just relax. Deep breaths."
"My jian?"
Caihong smiled, holding up Dongmei's sword and shaking it slightly, "Right here. Don't worry about it."
"Right....I'll be.....fine." Dongmei laughed to herself.
