Dongmei moved to the side, hearing the sword pass by her and hit the ground. She flinched and turned towards the sound of breathing, her white dress fluttering as she moved quickly. She blocked Rong's next attack, the sound of metal against metal ringing through the arena. Pushing Rong's sword away, Dongmei took a step backward and sheathed her sword, smiling.
"That was fun." She said, Caihong hurrying over to Dongmei and placing and hand on her shoulder. Rong sheathed his sword and chuckled.
"You're better than I anticipated. It was almost like...you weren't blind." Dongmei flushed in embarrassment. "I'm glad you accepted my offer to fight."
"I-It was my pleasure." Dongmei bowed her head, her white hair and the free end of her red blindfold falling over the sides of her head. Rong smiled and bowed in return, his bow slightly deeper than hers.
"As was mine." Rong shook his bangs out of his eyes, crossing his arms, "I hope to fight you again." Dongmei nodded and let Caihong lead her away. Dongmei stopped before they walked out of the fighting arena.
"General Rong, come join me for tea." Dongmei offered. Rong smiled and walked over. "Caihong, I'm sorry, but could you prepare the tea?" Caihong smiled and bowed.
"Of course, Dongmei-da jie." she looked at Rong, "You're going to have to help her. She's still blind, no matter how good she can fight." Rong nodded and Caihong bowed once more, hurrying off. Rong held an arm out so that Dongmei could place her hand on it. They started walking to the gardens.
"Tell me, Dongmei Gongzhu. How did you learn to fight so well?" Dongmei smiled softly.
"Since I'm blind, I can't do...normal things. So I asked my father for a sword art teacher so that I could learn to do that since you don't necessarily need to see for that. My teacher was also blind, so he taught me well. And I just learned that I can fight without my vision." Rong smiled down at the princess. "I see sword fighting as an art, even when you are engaged in combat. Just like the water brush strokes on rice paper, the sword paints through the air."
"That's one way to think about it." Rong stopped on the top of a stone bridge and he looked at the fish swimming below, Dongmei listening to the fish swimming.
