It was now 6:35PM, the game was starting in 25 minutes, it's the first one of the season which meant this is our debut. My hair was already pulled into a high ponytail, my makeup was heavy, with dark grey eyeshadow and strong lines, my cheekbones contoured to perfection and our signature dark maroon lipstick.
Emerson's colors were black and maroon and our makeup and clothes matched it perfectly. The uniform's top was maroon, the school's logo printed in white on the front. The skirt was black with maroon lines and several white details at the hem.
I sat on the bench in the locker room and felt my phone buzzing in my hands, I saw the name and my face lit up uncontrollably.
Emily:
"Good luck tonight, (don't) break a leg"It was quickly followed by another one:
"Meet me under the bleachers after? 💋"my brain now understanding that she was here, to see me..?
"You're here?"
"I wouldn't miss it for the world"
My lips stretched into a smile immediately, it was embarrassing how easy I was for her.
I remembered real life is waiting for me and got up to stand on the bench, it was now time for my speech.
"So listen up everyone, this is our first time performing in public this year. For the most of us it's not a big deal but it is for our freshmen, so the key here is to just enjoy the moment, not think about whether you know what to do next because trust me your muscles know how to move and exactly what to do at any given moment. This is also a great opportunity to train for regionals that are taking place this weekend, to polish our routine to perfection and see what do we need to work on. Let's go kick som ass babes!" I was done and we all cheered, I loved being captain, I love to be in control and this was finally my time to be the captain of the ship.
Our routine was perfect, I was so proud of my girls, we perfected all our jumps and tumbles, even the freshmen were amazing. Of course the best one was Abby, she was incredible and I made sure I told her that after we were done.
We were definitely ready for regionals, the other schools better watch out because we were coming for the kill.
The game ended now, we won 20-12 which was rather impressive, I saw Wyatt in the tunnel and jumped on him from behind, latching my arms around him "Nice first game bro" I yelled in his ear as he placed his hands under my thighs to hold me, it was cute how he actively tried to avoid my ass even though my skirt barely covered it.
"You did pretty good yourself Al" he chuckled and I smiled.
"Are you coming to the diner?" He asked as he put me down near the locker room door.
"Maybe later, I'm busy now" I smiled involuntarily and he smirked.
"Anything you need to tell me?" He cocked his brow in a questioning manner.
"Not yet" I wasn't lying, she was still my girl who's not my girl.
"I'll save you two a spot" he chuckled and I felt my face redden.
"I'll just text you" I said, he was still smirking at me.
"I can't believe you're finally growing up, I feel like a proud older brother" he shook his head in disbelief and I rolled my eyes.
"Shut up please"
"She even made you softer, saying please instead of bossing me around, I like her" I rolled my eyes again, she did make me softer though, I didn't know if I loved it yet.
